Display Picture Changer by Dempsey on 10-05-2003 at 03:54 PM

This plugin lets you select a list of pictures and then you just type /xdpc to change your display picture to the next picture in the list.

The other commands are /xdpcsettings to set the list and /dpcabout.

Let me knoe if you have any problems, ideas or questions.

Dempsey

ps it only works in MSN 6.1

edit: i have now added the feature you want /xdpc c:\cheese.gif will now work.

edit: i have now fixed an bug where the settings window wouldnt show

edit: i have now fixed some problems with the registry entries

edit: i have now added the Random picture command!

Well why can't the parameter be a filename... It would make a much better plugin

Is there anything for changing them randomly? or cycling through them?

Id love it if you could set it to cycle through all the pics in a set folder and change it every hour or so, either in order (say alphabetically) or just randomly.  The time change would be flexible so you could have it changing every 30 seconds or every 24 hours :D

any chance? ;)

RE: Display Picture Changer by Dempsey on 10-06-2003 at 10:23 AM

i could make a command which randomly picks a picture from the list and set that as your picture.  :D

I did have the plugin change the picture every say 10 minutes, but it didnt work very well as a plugin, it just froze msn.  But ive got a standalone program which does exactly that.  Changes the DP to the next picture in the list every 10 minutes or whatever you set.

If you want this then let me know.

But i'll add the extra command to the plugin so it can randomly pick a picture.

ooh if you could send us the standalone it would be awesome :D (can I change the time thing from 10 mins to somethign else?)

Extra command in the plugin is a good tradeoff as well :D

I've attached 1 I've had for quite a long time...never bothered using it though...got it from mess.be I think...

ok.  i'll upload the standalone when i get home, cos im a t college at the moment.

And i'll add the extra command to the plugin and upload that.

And yes you can change the time to anything you want.

RE: Display Picture Changer by Huuf on 10-07-2003 at 04:49 PM

Novex try if you get the same message with my dp changer http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=16177
If you get it I will send you a file what records some stuff, to retrieve what causes the error

yours works perfectly in that there are no errors and whatnot..

Dempsey if you send me the source code I can try to get it working and tell you the problem (Im assuming its VB? if not then bugger cause I dont know C++ or Delphi :( ) or if you dont want to release the source code thats ok.
