Translator BETA 1 by Hah on 11-07-2003 at 05:18 PM

Heres a plugin i whipped up when i got really bored from an old program i made.

It will translate to and from any language supported by google or babel-fish (uses altavista)

Commands put simply:

/xgtran <langpair> <text> - Will translate using google
e.g. /xgtran en|de hello - Will translate hello to german using google
/xbtran <langpair> <text> - same using babel-fish
e.g. /xbtran en_de hello - Will translate hello to german using babel-fish

Tags:

(!XPLP) - will print all possible langpairs.

Thats it, and remember, this is in full BETA and has not been bug tested by me, so let me know at thomasgreenwood@2die4.com or here.

Ta,

Hah

Great! TIA!!
Two minor things:
1. Why en|de and en_de? A third method when Babylon will be included?? Please, if possible make all of them en-de (the | and the _ are more difficult on a Swedish keyboard  :)
2. print ---> show (as nothing is printed!)

R.E. 1.) The reason for en|de and en_de is because these are the language pairs in the format for that company, I will make them a set default when i release it fully, however its only half finished but thought i would share it in development for bugs and suggestions.

R.E. 2.) Note taken, will change.

Oh and babylon is proving to be more and more hard because it opens a new window, however im sure i will manage it eventually. Also, it will be the 'try me' translation service which babylon offer, not a paid service!

RE: Translator BETA 1 by torewyn on 11-12-2003 at 08:16 AM

hmm  it appears something is wrong for it to work for me. everytime i try it, i get

GoogleTran
Component 'MSINET.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

anything you can tell me to fix this? I get it no matter which service i try to use

RE: Translator BETA 1 by Tochjo on 11-12-2003 at 01:46 PM

You can download MSINET.OCX from http://www.ptv5online.net/chatchit/needfiles/msinet.zip and extract it to your System32 directory (probably C:\Windows\System32).

Besides that, you might need to register it: go to Start > Run and type
regsvr32.exe msinet.ocx and click OK.

I hope this solves your problem.
