Questions by itey on 11-09-2003 at 12:08 PM

1. Why do we people with less than 10 posts have to be "newbie" ? it's of depreciation for me.

2. How do I make smilies code not to show as a picture? In a post or in signature. I knowin a post I can disable smilies, but I want to enable some to show while disable others.

1. It's just the rank that the Admins put, WDZ has been talking about changing it to New Member.

2.Look at this: http://shoutbox.menthix.net/images/smilies/index.php. It will tell you your smilies code for emotions. Note: A different catalogue is there for the shoutbox.

2. I don't think you got me...I didn't ask help for how to insert smilies:(
Thanks for the help anyway:) As for question 1, In a thread I've seen "Newbie" has been used since the forums are established...How come the issue has been discussed over but not put into practice?

You can disable the smiley codes and add the emoticons you do want to see as an image code.

Example: I've disabled emoticons in this post :)
Yet you can see the [Image: msn_happy.gif] if you add it as http://shoutbox.menthix.net/images/smilies/msn_happy.gif between the [img]-tags.

I get it...:)

that would be a bit troublesome if I want to disable only one emoticon.

Anyway thanks [Image: msn_wink.gif]

People wanted the bold/italic/underline codes improved, so I improved them. :p

Because new members have been called "newbies" for a long time, and I don't like to change. :p

The title only means you're a newbie to the MsgPlus forums... you shouldn't be offended. :^)

Remember the IP address text being formatted because of unclosed tags in signatures? I fixed that by making the tags more scrict. They won't work unless you use them properly.

Of course you could always do  but that's lengthier.

Edit: Lengthy alright, it took me 3 edits to get that to show without parsing the tag 8o|

I can use it and it never shows up, neither when typing, nor when posting: [img]URL[/img] :)
RE: Questions by billywoods1 on 11-09-2003 at 07:44 PM

As BooGhost said, it depends on the font.

Edit: blah, it doesn't show up on any of the fonts on the forum. :dodgy:
