Keystorm's Dynamic Avatar Collection by KeyStorm on 02-04-2004 at 09:47 PM

Well, as promised I did a little page with all my avatars. (H)

You can visit it at: http://funmail.keystorm.net/MP!/MPavatar.php?view=gui.

Now: if you're interested in any of the avatars send me a PM or an e-mail to the adress written in Terms & Conditions.

PLEASE, DO NOT STEAL THE URLs :@
Otherwise I'll have to close the page, which would be a pity.

If you COPY them, besides of letting me know, it'd be kind that you put a link to my homepage:

http://www.keystorm.net (in Spanish, hardly related with MP!, though)

or to this thread (http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=21131).

New avatars are being added irregularly, because of all the exams I have (tja Leute, Abi... usw), but I always have new avatars in mind.

Just another point that you should keep in mind if you read the rules (remember?):

DO NOT SPAM!
Keep this thread clean if you want to keep it in GCC. If not, then simply do not post in it. ;)

Well, enjoy them and thanks in advance :)

Um....IF your afraid of theft, then why not water mark your work? Or maybe put "SAMPLE" Through it, so that people have to get emailed the real one...lol...there are ways around GTA....Grand Theft Avy ;)

This should apply to all threads outside of testing and trashing and if you care that much I might as well lock it.

You could steal the real avatar aswell, they are the same images...
Less useless work for me.

At least theaves have the moral obligation of sending me an e-mail

No, I mean u could water mark the real thing. Don't take this as theft, bcz it's not, but I water-marked an example for you here. I just did a quicky job, but it's just an example:

RE: Keystorm's Dynamic Avatar Collection by KeyStorm on 02-04-2004 at 10:22 PM

Yeah... maybe you're right... But.... trust me, I care less about theft than about bandwidth. (This forum is leeching it enough)

Anyway... allright... I'll do it from now on... :dodgy:

Btw, thanks for your example :)

Another thing before I go to bed |-):
I'm planning to do a car vinyl with the MP! Symbol (obviously in Photoshop :D), just like with the plane, but slightly more difficult.

I need a clean picture of a kewl car (Yes, like the NFS: Underground ones, you know).
If you find one you'd like to have vinyled or you yourself own such a sport-car (who knows) let me now ;)

OK, tomorrow. I just signed off.

Hope you like the watermark ;)

RE: Keystorm's Dynamic Avatar Collection by .blade// on 02-04-2004 at 10:55 PM

lol, it's ok....if not in a kinda strange spot :P

RE: Keystorm's Dynamic Avatar Collection by Chrono on 02-05-2004 at 12:06 AM

probably to prevent people to cut the watermark off :P

Well done keyStorm, nice pics

RE: Keystorm's Dynamic Avatar Collection by KeyStorm on 02-05-2004 at 03:32 PM

Ahm, yes what I forgot to say is that you can ask me to do something with any vip you want.
So if you have any ideas, post them here, there's no problem.

Soon there will be polls for avery avatar so you can vote, anyway you may post the comments here.

Btw, and thanks to gigablade77 I came today to the idea of putting a watermark automatically through php (since the avatar is printed from a php). Maybe this evening I'll try to programm it.

(Any tips? ;))

I dont seem to understand the point of this thread

RE: Keystorm's Dynamic Avatar Collection by Johnny_Mac on 02-05-2004 at 04:08 PM

Me either... and what I find funny about it is peoples attemp to watermark the images when the images they use are ripped off someone else in the first place.

RE: Keystorm's Dynamic Avatar Collection by KeyStorm on 02-05-2004 at 07:10 PM

Well, the point was mentioned in a thread that became closed in T&T, some asked to do something like this showcase with all my avatars.
And yes, it's true, they may be ripped off, but not necessarily.

* KeyStorm now remembers the reason why he didn't want to watermark the pics

What you can do here is to comment all the additions to my collection. Or submit suggestions, which will be welcomed, btw.

If you're not interested... nobody asked you... just that simple ;)

You can't say this.. ^^

Then say:

And expect us to respect your site and not to copy the images without your consent. Maybe if you put up the orignal source of all your orignal images and the e-mail off their author saying you could doctor them [and of course re-copyright them under your name], and then people might actually think you have an eligable case.

RE: Keystorm's Dynamic Avatar Collection by KeyStorm on 02-05-2004 at 07:53 PM

No, I think you didn't see the point of the sentence "don't steal the URLs". I mean this, because of bandwidth-stealing (ever heard? ;)). I know this forum steals a lot, but... well it's mentioned above, anyway.

And I never said you must not copy... you can, if you want, but it'd be KIND to let me know.

But all right, I think it's honest to quote the source image.

Anyway, the author isn't always known.

Remember, I don't (because I can't) prohibit the copies... But I "kindly" ask to not to :)

RE: Keystorm's Dynamic Avatar Collection by Johnny_Mac on 02-05-2004 at 07:55 PM

okay... my very simple point is not to preach what you don't practise.

Both points made I think. :)
