Dock bug (margin)? by Mnjul on 02-24-2004 at 12:23 PM

I don't know if this has been report but...

As you can see in this picture, there is still some vertical space above my main MSN Messenger window while Plus! docks the window. When I right-click on the space it shows Destop's popup menu.

Environment:

Windows Svr 2003 Trad. Chi., with UXTheme.dll patched by UXTheme multi-patcher 1.5. Using AMPed visual style with Normal font size
Plus! 2.54.74
MSN Messenger 6.1.0207 - It's the Windows X multi-skin version, but I don't know exactly what skin I am using. It has a maple-leaf looking.

Did you tried it without the Windows 2003 theme?

Yes, and to be honest, this doesn't happen when I use Classic Theme and the default Windows XP Visual Style. Yet still happening with many other visual styles.

So that shouldn't be called a bug but a glitch as long as my usage of visual style isn't exactly appropriate? :(

I think it is a bug/glitch in the visual styles then... Although I'm not 100% certain... Anyways, it seems a conflict between the styles and the way Plus! docks its window. Because I don't think you have the vertical space when you maximize a normal window (with Win styles), no? If you do have the space when you maximize a window, then it is definately a bug/glitch in the style (top part of the titlebar is mad transparent instead of smaller, or something)...

I am positively 100% certain and sure that it comes from yoru visual style.. when I tried WinBlind some month ago, I enjoyed it very much up to the point where I saw problems in some windows of different softwares. Trying too much to customize the interface is not always a good idea, especially when some of the elements of Windows were not designed to be replaced :). However, if I remember correctly, there was an option in WinBlind to specify the height of the picture you put in the title bar, I guess that could solve your problem.

i think i know...... thepng of the active bar has a transparent space at the top ;)

so there's not bug.. it's just that the skinner forgot about maximizing windows :P
