The MsgPlus forums are now on the new server, and running MyBB! Thanks to Chris Boulton (surfichris) for all the work he did in the past few hours to get this set up.

Some stuff we had on the old board is gone now (emoticons, stats page, member of the week poll, etc.), but we'll be adding most of those things back.

Remember that this is a beta version of MyBB, and you'll probably find some bugs. Please report them to us so we can get them fixed.

Well, that's all I have to say for now... I gotta get some sleep... it's 6 AM...

I like the new forums only they are a bit slow...

took me 2 mins to get on this page to reply... even with a ADSL connection

nice job on the move...this new board is soo kewl...altho the server seems slower...the emoticons are abit...ugly

Uhhh.... i don't wanna complain.... but it's EXTREMELY slow
Took me like 30 seconds to open the first page on a ADSL connection

The server load has been a bit high ever since i did the conversion, there were about 25000 SQL queries it had to run and i didnt give it much time in between them.


To add to this, there seems to be some network congestion or some problems with the bbnplanet routers/lines (which is one of the major backbones).


In the next few months, we will probably be updating this server and adding a new processor and some more ram.

reisyboy, it was upgraded manually. Surfi wrote scripts to do it, but there wasn't a real upgrade script.

Yeh I gotta say that right now, sorry but I don't see the benefits in moving.  I do like the new layout tho (bar the myBB ad - is that always going to be there?)
Speed I guess will be fixed eventually but a shame about the emoticons.  There's something weird about the thread list pages - the little pink pieces of paper and some really weird column spacings make it look a bit odd.  Oh and patchou's avatar's broken (lol aren't I picky) I know it takes a LOT of hard work to get this far tho, so I take my hat of 2 ya.

The forums should now be accessable from shoutbox.menthix.net again, instead of the temporary IP address. Please use shoutbox.menthix.net, as logging in may not work properly with the other URL.

OK, I guess it depends on where you live and the DNS servers. The hostname shoutbox.menthix.net should work for everyone soon.

OK, the server should be working faster now.

Please post if you have any more problems and our Technician will have a look at it.

I don't know about you guys, but the speed is *still* a problem for me... I have ADSL, but these pages just refuse to load properly. Every once in a while i get messeges like "Server unavailable" and stuff like that. On the other hand, it sometimes does run smoothly...
I don't get it anymore. These differences occur in like 5 mins time span.

Sorry about that error, but we need to limit access to prevent the server load from getting too high... that will just make things worse...

Hey All!

We are looking at buying more ram for the server we are now on. It is all a matter of money and what the server can/cant take. WE are getting a new server arround christmas. I just noticed something.
At the bottom of the forum it describes the icons, however, 2 icons have the exact same desciption.

Also, I don't seem to be able to get a list of someone's posts like I used to be able to do.
I used this feature to see Patchou's posts for any new MP2 info.

That's strange.. The forums seem pretty quick for me..

The search feautre is sorra working, We will try to get it up ASAP
