Multiline nickname, anyone find a fix =)? by EvilSeph on 04-03-2004 at 02:16 AM

Well, self explanatory, I'm interested as to whether an alternative/fix was found for multiline nicknames =)

Edit: Well I believe i've found one, it's just that it bolds all text after it, which tbh, is annoying.

use msgplus, and type:
/nick <line 1 of name> <shift + return> <line 2 of name>

etc.

This works temporarily: after signing out and signing in again, your name will be one line again.

I am aware of that way but I believe I have found an alternative, seeing as that character has been "nullified".

alternative/fix
gotta read more careful... he wants a single character, not using msgplus

Here's a screeny, as you can see, the nickname is multi-lined. This is retained after signing out and then back in. However the font is changed and somewhat bolder than your actual nickname.

Also, your nickname looks like crap to your contacts, but it's an alternative. Can't have everything now can we =)?

wow, the change in colour and font sure does look ugleh :P

what i wanna know is that can i keep characters like "/ [ ( ) _"
these in it coz i tried it but gives error saying invalid display name please choose another and try again

I also like how my name magically turns into wingdings, where the email is =).

I'll think of a way to explain it or just keep it to myself..hmm..nah that'd be evil..hmm ;)

gilly messenger can do that... Or wait, nobody wants to know that :(

RE: Multiline nickname, anyone find a fix =)? by EvilSeph on 07-09-2004 at 03:48 PM

Why do you need a secondary client like gilly messenger to do this :p?

I'll post a urm "tutorial" on my forums..i'll paste the link here when done..
