Hello everyone,

the public version of Messenger Plus! has just been updated to 2.54.75 to support MSN Messenger 6.2. Everything is working fine except for the fact that emoticons cannot be used in conjunction with commands or special tags anymore (because of the fact that MSN Messenger 6.2 replaces emoticon codes by emoticon graphics while you type your messages). Of course, this problem will be solved in Messenger Plus! 3.

Please post replies to this thread if you encounter any problem with the latest version. It is very important that I am being kept informed of any problem, and thus, as soon as possible. Due to the special "emergency" situation, auto-update has already been enabled and I don't want to cause more problems that I'll solve by updating my users .

Thak u so much, I hope with Plus! 3 we can disable that nasty feature of replacing the text with emoticons while typing, and keep doing that great job, also I'm finishing my lessons of programing in C and C++, I wish I could help you one day.

The only reason I am installing 6.2 is bcz I know I will be annoyed by that stupid thing @ the top of the window that says "A newer version of MSN is available" So thx Patchou!

Heh, GJ patch, you did a fast update

i think cause you got a file(2.54.0.74) in your cache. And when you try and dl it again, it copies from the cache to where ever you save it. Try cleaning your cache then d/l it again

Thnx for the quick update, but i have a slight problem, i used to have a futuristic skin on my msn, and since it made me update msn (forced me to go to 6.1.0211) the skin wont work anymore, and i cant find a new version on mess.be where i originally got it from, anyone know where i can get it? (btw, its part of the msn x, so if someone knows where i can get msn x 6.2 ...)

Temporary Internet Files

Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Delete Files

or

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options > Delete Files

That was super fast! Will there be in Messenger Plus! 3 the possibility to disable this auto-change emoticon code to emoticon thing (if of course it is possible) , I think this kind of thing is horribly annoying

Hmmmm.... after downloading the new version i put on msn 6.2 then installed it, bt my msn went crazy with wacky errors, for example it opened a chat window wth Debug.Window (wtf) then kept crashing my whole computer, i now uninstaleld everything and went back to 6.1 with the previous plus!....

hi can anyone give os the link to the new msn 6.2 ? in the homepage of msn was just for some minutes the orange page with msn 6.2 in the title, buy the file to download was the same 6.1 old one, and then return the old page too...
well thats was at least in msn pages form mexico, usa and UK

As for updating, the simplest way is th click "Check for Updates" in the about box. The new version will be detected and downloaded properly .

When i Downloaded that Plus and It give me a Weird Blue Thing how can i rid of it!

Mine didnt update it says compatibility issues and it is the 2.54.75 version

Great job Patchou.....that was amazinley fast. My MSN Crashed at first (my heart skipped a few times) but then after a reboot, all worked fine. Keep up the good work.

Was getting worried for a second that i had to wait for Messenger Plus 3 for 6.2 to work with Plus

Does anyone have another link to Plus v2.54.75?

Myself and a friend have downloaded the file from http://download.msgplus.net/files/msgplus-setup.exe several times and it's always been v2.54.74 that we've received.  The friend had never even been to the site before, so there's no way he had an old version in his cache.

I didn't think MSN Messenger 6.2 was gonna be released, cos they ain't updated the MSN Messenger site yet ...luckily I found the download for it at mess.be

Hey, just a quick thing, I only started using encryption for chat logs just now but when I encrypt them only the ones for this month are encrypted not previous months. I don’t know if this is a bug or deliberate but I thought it should be brought to your attention, as I would love for all the messages to be encrypted, keep up the good work and I look forward to MP3

when i installed msn + it cums up sayin Cannot start conversation with "thr persons email" please try later every time i try it keeps doing it. any1 help?

And if you're not sure about that, you can always search the forums for the song2nick-thread and read it (this goes for every plugin btw )

Just wondering if this is like a bug of this version, but with all the /text here commands when you write a message after it and put an emot there too, when the emot is posted, only the text is shown..

E.g. /comeon Hahah

it comes out as Hahah

Hehe. I noticed that also. Nice of Patchou to tell us that in case everyone started complaining about why the emoticons aren't working .

I have something to say...probably answered/dealt with already....

When you set your own status (e.g. Eating Dinner), I discovered that, if you send a message, the emoticons in your name don't show....
