''Temp'' Folder by Eagle on 04-25-2004 at 04:27 AM

Hi (Y)
I'm using Windows XP Home (All Updates Installed)
Some boddy told me that it was ok to delete the content in
C: Documents and settings/My User Account/Local Settings/Temp (<--- Content)
Here what's in it
8 Folders called=
_ISTMP1.DIR
_ISTMP2.DIR
_ISTMP3.DIR
_ISTMP4.DIR
_ISTMP5.DIR
_ISTMP6.DIR
Incredimail
pft59~tmp

And 49 Files including MsgPlusUninst and Fichier de commande MS-DOS (2Ko)
Is it true that it's safe to delete ^o)

I have an other folder called ''Temp'' in C: WINDOWS/Temp

Thank's in advance (Y)

Yep, it is entirely true :). Anything placed in Temp can be deleted. The worst thign that could happen would be that some files are locked and cant be deleted (in that case, they probably will be deleted automatically by the app using them at some point).

It's always a good idea to empty your Temp folder once an awhile to free up space. (Y):D

Small note about this:
Reboot before you wanna clear the temp-folders.

Do this because many installation programs (almost all current ones) use the temp-folder to store temporarly things they need to complete the installation/uninstallation of prgorams. So, reboot to complete the installations you have pending, and rebooting also helps to "unlock" some files you otherwise can't delete. So, after rebooting, you can safely clear the temp-folders.
