Advertisements Still On.. by sN0rtON on 04-30-2004 at 02:28 AM

Umm, I accidently installed MSNPlus! with the sponser and upon uninstalling it, the sponser programs still seem to be on my computer (i.e. the casino ad pops up and some ID Emode..). Can anyone tell me how to remove it for good? Since then my internet seems to have slowed down significantly (not saying it's tied in any way, but just an observation).

Thanks for any help.

EDIT: BTW, I'm using MSN 6.1 I believe and the latest MSN Plus!

For legal resons its Messenger Plus! not MSN Plus!, MSN Plus! is owned by Microsoft.

The other question you had, try this

Start > Run > type "control panel" (without the quotes)

Internet Options > Advanced > Uncheck Enabled third-party browser extensions (requires restart)
(Doesn't really require you to restart, just close IE and reopen)

Check your system startup

Start > Run > msconfig

Click the startup tab at the top

Cross reference each item in the list there with this website http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
