In your own opinion, what is the best free image editing software??? and where can it be found?

Edit: maybe this needs to be a T&T

the GIMP is free (as in speech, and as in beer), and is nearly as full featured as photoshop. and there is a windows version.

You seem to be looking for the compiled ready to use package for windows (="what is the exact URL to download it"... :dodgy:)

http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/
Here it is.

because atownjoe2004 asked in a PM, heres som (slightly) detailed instructions on getting up and started:

The link to the download PAge: http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/stable.html

FIRST dl and install the GTK+2 for windows. the GIMP needs that to run.

once installed, DL and install the GIMP Setup.

then run the GIMP. theres some help files in it, and a help PAckage on that page (if the installer doesn't come with the help files, which it probably does)

to make a new image, click FIle>New

more information is available from http://www.gimp.org/windows/
