You can contact Patchou by sending him an e-mail :) he'll be glad to have another language on board. I think Tamil isn't added yet.

RE: Translation for Tamil by Menthix on 05-04-2004 at 04:30 PM

That's right, we currently do not have anybody for Tamil.

You can contact Patchou and ask if he add's you. But keep in mind that Patchou sometimes refuses to add dialects and languages which are almost not used. He does that to keep the filesize of Plus! small. I don't know what language Tamil is though so i can't say if Patchou would add it or not, ask him :).

Keep in mind that the is not much time left before the release of Plus! 3.0. So if you are accepted as translators there is probally not enough time left for you to translate everything on Plus!, test it, etc. So the first release with Tamil language possibly included will be the one after 3.00.

What about Telugu?

RE: Translation for Tamil by .blade// on 05-06-2004 at 02:00 AM

I have NEVER heard of Tamil OR Telugu....what part of the world are u ppl from?

RE: Translation for Tamil by MSN on 05-06-2004 at 03:37 AM

They are the languages from India....... :)

RE: Translation for Tamil by Patchou on 05-07-2004 at 03:56 AM

I have never refused any language based on my assumption of the number of people that use it so go ahead :).

Messenger Plus! 3 new auto-updates will help me determine how many users use each translation. That way, I'll be able to remove languages that are not used much and offer them as a separate download on the site.

What is the file, that should be translated?  I would like to have a look at the file... please....

Is it possible as a translator to see these statistics when 3 is aired ?

Yes Kian, Patchou has said that he'll pass the statistics on to the translators when they're available. :)

Btw Patchu, how long after the release of Plus! 3 do we get the statistics?

You already have it. Install Messenger Plus! Live go to the directory you installed it to (usually C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! Live) open the Languages folder, then open the Lng_Default.ini in notepad (be sure to change the name from Lng_Default.ini to Lng_Tamil.ini or whatever you are translating it to so that you don't overwrite the english file.
