from msgplus.net tutorials:

quote:
go in the Preferences panel. Select "Boss Protection". Click on the icon displayed in the lower right corner of the window. Select the path of the image you want to use as the new icon, then click OK. Note that the image must be a valid icon file with a valid tray-icon size.
am i wrong or 32*32 isnt the size of the tray-icons? :undecided:

im trying to use the Kazza Icon witch is

%SystemDrive%\.........\Program Files\Kazaa Lite K++\klite.ico

it is a valid .ico file but still the picture in the Boss Protection part still looks like the my computer icon

RE: Boss Protection by Tochjo on 05-04-2004 at 07:48 PM

I can set the klite.ico icon :-/

  1. Go to the main Messenger window (contact list)
  2. Click Plus! and go to Preferences
  3. Go to the Boss Protection section
  4. Click the computer icon
  5. Click the Browse button (the three dots)
  6. Browse to the klite.ico file and double click it
  7. Click OK to close that dialog window
  8. Click OK to close the Preferences
  9. Enter Boss Protection mode and look at the icon[/list]
    This should work :)

RE: Boss Protection by Tochjo on 05-04-2004 at 08:52 PM

There is an option to choose the status you have in Boss Protection mode; you can set it to Show Offline.

You mean you want a signed out icon? I attached one.
You cannot change the tooltip.

You can already have it so that the image is correct...extract that .ico file in Tochjo's post somewhere and do what Tochjo said earlier...just browse to the extracted .ico file...but it won't change what is said when you move your mouse over the icon to say "MSN Messenger - Not Signed in" perhaps sometime Patchou will add the ability to choose what is said when your mouse is put over the icon...but not now...

You know, I'm having the same issue with boss protection all of a sudden.  Of course I checked that it was enabled and still configured properly... I then re-installed plus!   It still doesn't work!  Any thoughts?

RE: Boss Protection by Vilkku on 05-11-2004 at 07:18 PM

I have a idea that works for me. Shut down MSN entirely and start it again. It should work after that. I usually do that as the first thing when I start my comp sp that I don't have to do it in the middle of any convos. Tell we if it works.

RE: Boss Protection by girlgroove2000 on 05-11-2004 at 08:18 PM

To be honest, I have re started messenger many times.  This has been going on for 3 days actually.  Many reboots etc. in that time.  Even re installing plus!  didn't help.

RE: Boss Protection by BulletHead on 05-11-2004 at 08:27 PM

Reinsall help me

RE: Boss Protection by girlgroove2000 on 05-11-2004 at 08:43 PM

what is help me?

RE: Boss Protection by BulletHead on 05-11-2004 at 09:16 PM

I ment Reinstalling Helped Me !!!

RE: Boss Protection by girlgroove2000 on 05-11-2004 at 09:28 PM

Ok!  Got it fixed and here is what worked!  I re-installed plus!  but then had to reboot the computer!  Simply signing in to messenger wasn't enough... so that is the key.  Re-install plus!  then reboot.

*phew!

RE: Boss Protection by BulletHead on 05-11-2004 at 09:30 PM

or you can just re instal it works with out re boot

RE: Boss Protection by girlgroove2000 on 05-11-2004 at 09:32 PM

As I said in an earlier post, simply re-installing did not work for me.  I had to also reboot after the re-install.

RE: Boss Protection by BulletHead on 05-11-2004 at 09:33 PM

i dint have to re boot at all
