Hotmail Banner Removable? by MC Inferno on 05-13-2004 at 07:36 PM

I looked through the forums, but couldnt find anything. also, I didnt know where to put this, so I thought this would be best, does any one know if there is a patch or plug in that can get rid of the bannor saying "You Have left Hotmail, close this browser window to return" at the top of the screen when you click a link from a hotmail message?

Thank y'all (Y)

PS. The orignal domain instead all the crap would be nice too ;)

Just installed and tried it, but no joy, tar anyways :)

When you install it it doesn't prevent the banners. Right click the page with the banners and choose the item on the menu like "Hotmail Deframer" then it will work :-)

While i'm trying to fix it, a temporary option is to use Profile Manager

I could upload it the current version if anyone is interested?  It's not fully working, but the Hotmail link remover bit works fine, but you have to copy and paste the url to remove the frame.

I think i now a way to do that.
but i don't know C or C++ so i give the idea for it here.
Look to this part of source:

code:
<IFRAME FRAMEBORDER=0 SCROLLING=NO MARGINHEIGHT=0 MARGINWIDTH=0 WIDTH=160 HEIGHT=600 SRC="http://rad.msn.com/ADSAdClient31.dll?GetAd?PG=HOTS04?SC=D1?HM=045d42465b585b5d471c5d53026761034d65091038450b4555525a480d20441f2f69?LOC=I?TF=_NEW?ID=00067FFE808AB9DA?UC=1?PS=8315?PI=44401?AP=1090?NA=1140?NC=9523" tabindex="-1"></IFRAME>

SRC="http://rad.msn.com/ADSAdClient31.dll
This is the part you need to know.
I think with bloking that dll the ads wil not be there anymore.
I have made that the domain name rad.msn.com was not alowed.
But internet explorere deleted it from the list automatic.
So help.
RE: Hotmail Banner Removable? by Dempsey on 05-16-2004 at 09:28 AM

BART_SIMPSON416 - I think what your on about is trying to remove the adverts, but MC Inferno's question was if the frame on new links was removable.

I have now an updated version of Hotmail Deframer and everyone who has tried it so far it works for.

At the moment it works but doesn't look very nice, so i will attach so you can see it it and checkm it works and give me any requests or things to add/change.

Run the program and it will be in the systray, then open a hotmail message with some links in and when you click on the links they should open without the frame!

If you have problems or if it doesnt work for you then can you please post your (!VER) and tell me the error/problem you had.

Yea, i think i'll make this an option, as i don't like too many icons in the system tray.

Oh okay.
But one question can you make the deframer to for firefox.
I hate internet explorer.

RE: Hotmail Banner Removable? by Dempsey on 05-16-2004 at 03:17 PM

i don't it will be possible for FireFox, although it has been requested before, so i will try.  But i'm not hopefull.

RE: Hotmail Banner Removable? by Richmason on 05-29-2004 at 04:27 PM

Demp, the deframer is a wicked program. I dont really see anything which needs changing about it.
But the options and the about boxes need to be sorted, because their blank ATM

But im a noobie, so its probly just me.
Good work!

if you have mozilla/firefox, right-click on the web page and select this frame/show only this frame and you're done
