yea i have, but strangely enough when i turn my computer on i usually stop messenger from signing in, and then sign in after i have read my emails :P

I just leave it on so that when i do want to sign in i can just click the “Sign In” button :P

If you enable the first (that is in Tools > options) messenger will sign in when it is launched. If you enable the 2nd one (that is in the screen where you write your mail and password) messenger will remember your password, and will let you click the sign in button to sign in automaticaly but don't sign in just after being launched. :)

if someone can tell me how to do that, that would be nice. I don't know how this could be done :-/

I have four checkboxes on the General tab (first section):
  • The first one is for loading Messenger when starting Windows (checked)
  • The second one is for showing main window when starting Windows (not checked)
  • The third one is for connecting automatically when connected to the Internet (checked)
  • The fourth is for showing MSN Today (not checked)

So, unless you mean you have a connection when starting Windows, I do not see how to do that :-/

Just so you all know, it's a big security risk (in respect to your hotmail account) as anyone who has access to your machine can get your password (provided they can break the encryption, and it has been done before).

Yes, I know, TheBlasphemer wrote a program that decrypted it from the registry :dodgy:

But it's a pain having to type that all over again every time :p

isn't it the 3rd option the one you're looking for? Of course, you have to sign in manually once and check the box at the window where you write your email & pass in order messenger remembers them.

But you make it sound like it connects automatically when starting Windows, but it doesn't do that.

no, when you run messenger (Start > Programs (or all programs) > MSN Messenger). If you want messenger sign in automatically when starting Windows, you have to check the 1st and 3rd options

Well, that's what it should happen

Yes and no....

Yes for my private account (only my family who knows it) ;).
No for my public account (if I wanna talk with my friends).
RE: Have you enabled automatic singing in? by dotNorma on 05-17-2004 at 09:41 PM

My Messenger doesn't load on start-up or connect automatticlly. But I have it set to remember my password because its a pain re-typing my password everytime and by now I have forgotten what my password is

Besides , I have my own computer  , With no siblings , Im sure my parents would love to hack into my account and ask all my freinds out and ruin my social life ,
