FreeImage.dll by Sunshine on 05-24-2004 at 05:49 PM

After updating to plus!3 my plus!2 folder is left..wondering why, i crosschecked the files and since all files (includin plugins folder) were copied to plus!3 folder i tried to delete C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 2 ... that resulted in a warning that FreeImage.dll was still in use. I closed messenger then deleted the folder..after doing that Plus doesnt recognize the plugin folder (plugins is coloured grey in plus), so i put the folder back. Moving FreeImage.dll from plus!2 folder to Plus!3 folder didnt work either (ofcourse i renamed the original FreeImage.dll in plugins folder of Plus!3 first so i could rename it back if it didnt work)....so something in plus is refering to that particular dll in that particular folder. What can be done bout this?

FreeImage.dll is used by Screenshot Sender.  It should load the FreeImage.dll from the same place as the SS.dll so that means that SS.dll is being run from the plus 2 folder.

Have you tried having SS.dll and FreeImage.dll in the Plus! 3 plugins folder and registering ss.dll?

Thanks Dempsey that did the trick (Y) On deleting plus!2 folder i came across a few other dll's that couldnt be removed (LN.dll & MSSpeechForMSGPlus.dll) i registered those same way an after that (and restarting MSN messenger) i could remove plus!2 folder entirely (without closing messenger first to check if any other files are still in use) an plugins isnt coloured grey anymore :)

Btw: installation of plus!3 already copied the dll's to plus!3 pluginsfolder so i did not need to move em.
