I went ahead and installed the sponsor toolbar for the sake of helping keep the software free.  However...  it killed my Google Toolbar.  It replaced it in IE.  When I right click on the toolbars, I can recheck Google and uncheck the sponsor one, but if you close and reopen IE, Google is gone again and the sponsor toolbar is back. 

I finally gave up, uninstalled Messenger Plus and reinstalled without the sponsor toolbar and all is fine.

Anyone happen to find a way to let them coexist?  I tried to be good!

The best way to be good without sponsors is buying some merchandise from MP! I did it.

It only kills toolbars because of the fact that toolbars now contain popup blockers. As well as toolbars being killed, popup blockers cease to function too. I find this quite ingenious and funny because I want to run the sponsor without popups, as it would annoy the hell out of my family .
