Hey guys,
I often need to use the auto-accept files thing, a feature that I had been waiting for a long time (though it was on ICQ). Very useful coz when you're not home, people can still send you important files without you having to accept.
But i was sorry to see that if you want to auto-accept incoming files, you are to accept webcam transmissions as well (so my contacts can always see what i'm doing in my room : 
) and games (so they can bother me when i'm working ! 
)
So i think you Patchou should differentiate these auto-accept things. You should be able to auto-accept only FILES, then other stuffs if you want...

What your problem. If you only turn on he auto-accept thing when your not in what they gonna see?

I understand what he is saying. I am happy to have auto-accept turned on for file transfers, but would prefer more control over webcams, games etc.
If I recall correctly, Patchou mentioned wanting to add a finer grain control over the auto-accept functionality. I am not sure where it lies in his to-do list

I'll add an option in future versions of Plus!.. this feature is "in test" right now, I want to see if many peopel use it

if nobody would use it, would that change anything? a feature is a feature! even if it's for only one person...

That's not an excuse, that's just a good way to manage my time. I'm spending all my days working on the software, I just can't do everything everybody wants, especially if only one person asks for it. I always have to decide where to put my time and what's the most urgent. The Auto-Accept feature is here and it's working very well. Adding a type of stuff to filter will be an option that I'll add if I see that there's really a demand for it. That's how I've always worked and so far, it's been working fine

Well, I would also use the Auto-Accept feature if it worked different than it does now. Files yes... Cam no.

Indeed... I hope this gets implemented too (main reason why I don't use auto-accept right now, is because of this)...
I never mentioned this again (was first mentioned in that thread where you announced that auto-accept was going to be added), because I thought it was already on your to-do list for next update...

Yes, I really want this feature...I had to enable it once for someone to send some files over when I was away for a while and I didn't like the idea of him being able to listen in to my microphone...if I had a webcam it'd be worse...I don't think I'll use the auto accept feature again until the ability to filter what I let people auto-accept

I hope this is fixed in the future so that Plus! doesn't automatically accept all of those annoying things like audio and video conversations, games etc.
However, it seems that the biggest problem for most of you is your contacts' ability to view your webcam without your acceptance. Until Patchou gets the auto-accept feature 'fixed', the webcam issue can actually be resolved by using one of Messenger's own settings...
Simply enter your MSN Messenger settings and uncheck "Share my webcam capabilities with others".
Don't worry, you'll still be able to have webcam conversations by clicking the button at the top of a conversation. Only difference is that your contacts won't be able to invite you to start sending webcam.
Of course, this won't solve the games and audio auto-accept, but contacts usually don't invite you to that sort of thing anyway (at least mine don't)

Edit: Sorry, I take that back. Unchecking "Share my webcam capabilites..." will NOT ensure your webcam privacy. One of my contacts just succeeded in inviting me to start sending webcam even though I'd unchecked that box, and of course it was auto-accepted by Plus! instantly.
I've now completely disabled AA.

Ok ok, it will be added soon . But right now, I'm nit planning to release another update probably before a month or more. I'm currently preparing to move to a new house, I can't program while I pack my stuff .

Great! It's late now, but I wanted to add my "++", I'd requested this feature a couple of times together with many others, so it's great to see it will be added, and also nice to hear you are moving to a new house, congrats!

well i think it will be great to have the auto accetp thing divide by categories or sub menus like:
auto accept
games
files
web cams
other i miss
and that way plus users can also customise what they wana receive aotumatic
i will love to see that feature update with that i have turned on always
