(!FC0) Bug by ThaXdeviL on 06-09-2004 at 05:11 PM

Hi,

I'm running msn messenger 6.2(.0133) on windows xp and when I type a custom emoticon like ;D and afther that (!FC0)'A white text' he does not even display my emoticon.

That was all! :)

Works fine here. Make sure you have the latest version of Messenger Plus! installed since there were compatibility problems with MSN Messenger 6.2 in past verisons.

(!FC0);D Text
works fine, but
;D(!FC0) Text
does not work, the emoticon is not visible then.

Lol, I know that, but in my first post I said the ;D is for example an Custom Emoticon. So if you type your custom emoticon first, then (!FC0) and then your tekst, your custom emoticon will not be vissible.

This is not a bug.
(!FC0) sets the font colour to white.
It doesnt make text "invisible"...

RE: (!FC0) Bug by ThaXdeviL on 06-10-2004 at 12:56 PM

Yes I understand, but I does also make the emoticon not visible and I think that is not the meaning of the function.

Ok, I'll just explain it step by step:
1) Select an custom emoticon from the emoticon list
2) type (!FC0)
3) type 'any text'
4) in the chatwindow you see only 'any text' in white and the emoticon is gone.

Yeah that sounds like a bug... Patchou will see this soon

I just tested this with MSN Messenger 6.2.0133 (original, unpatched), and Latest Plus (3.01.94) and it works just fine :undecided:

I tested both with build-in emoticons as with custom emoticons. Also did the test with the color white and other colors also...

I also repeated the test with a MSN Messenger which was patched with "MSNEmoTyping"... Same positive result...

The emoticon shows up just fine...

EDIT: darn me... I didn't do exactly what you've reported :$ I typed the emoticon instead of selecting it... So I was too quick to judge... sorry

This bug is very true...(Windows Version: Windows XP, 5.01.2600
Messenger Client Version: 6.2.0137
Messenger Plus! Version: 3.01.0094) the custom emoticon doesn't show up for me neither for 4 of my friends!!! Patchou, you gotta do something about it!

Hehehe, for this kind of bug you have to be very careful about what the users are posting my helper friends.

quote:
Select an custom emoticon from the emoticon list
The reason of the bug is quite simple: you cannot select an emoticon from the emoticon panel of Messenger and use a Plus! feature with it, emoticons will be deleted in that case. Thsi has nothign to do with (!FC0) in particular, you would have the same problem with any other tag (like (!N) for example). However, I have good news for you: this limitation does not apply if you're using a keyboard shortcut to specify your color. So, if you type Ctrl+K then 0 instead of (!FC0), it will work fine and the emotion will stay in the message.

Never noticed that part of it lol... msn richtext emoticons in the message box are just plain dodgy :p
