Bug ? Locking messenger - security by Big Tone on 06-13-2004 at 01:44 PM

Hello,
My issue relates to the security settings of msgplus.  I usually lock my MSN messenger when my flatemates use my pc as they  quite often sign me out but never sign me back in.

Since I have started using the "lock messenger" option from msgplus all has been good.. until ..Someone logged into hotmail via Internet explorer and they clicked on a button which asked if they "wanted to sign in".  This caused me to sign out and they could not sign me back in because it was password protected.

Although it is not a matter of National security I just thought I would mention this so that maybe the problem of getting signed out could be looked into for future releases.

I use WinXP SP1, MSN Messenger 6.1 and Msgplus ver 3.01.94

Comments welcome.

Thanks

Tony

This is a problem that has to do with the MSN server. The Sign Out button on Passport.Net sites sends a command to the MSN server telling it to sign you out. I don't think that there is any wa around this without editing protocol.

Hum... interesting.... I'll check that out. An easy fix would probably to remove the lock if someone signs-in with another account. I'll remember that.
