yahoo = 100MB NOW! by lylesback2 on 06-15-2004 at 08:53 PM

i think this is brand new... but ive been a yahoo member for awhile now.  since i can't handle all the stuff going in and out of my hotmail account.  but they put it up to 100MB and a new design :D

once again... everything is one step ahead of microsoft.  Microsoft needs to step it up in order to keep it's customers.  gmail is gonna take over everything, if not, yahoo will be second best... and stuck at 2mb :S (or 50 hotmail accounts to equal 1 yahoo account) microsoft is gonna lose this war :P

RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by mad_onion on 06-15-2004 at 09:21 PM

Microsoftİ feel that they give a service that has more features and content than many of its competitors. This includes the .net service which can be used to log into MSNİ Messenger and many other services over the internet. Also, upgrades to Hotmail services are coming in future and storage for free users is under review

RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by lylesback2 on 06-15-2004 at 09:42 PM

it seems like you work for microsoft...
"Microsoft Rules!"

but microsoft is Wrong... very wrong, i prefer picking 100MB over 2mb ANYDAY... more is better, bigger is better, more high-teck is just... more complicated for computer newbies.

[offtopic] why do you copyright all the MSN and microsoft?  i honestly think you work for microsoft :P

I also could create an account for my deleted account :)
I don't know it's just me or something, but it takes a long, long time to download the page :undecided:
Hate it :p

RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by Patchou on 06-16-2004 at 12:31 AM

lol... you really are going to create a new email account just because it offers you 100MB? I wonder what kind of email you receive :). I agre that 2MB is not enough but 10MB is and it is available on Hotmail for years (it's not free, I know, but every company has its own business strategies, and Hotmail is still extremely popular, even if it doesn't come "installed with Windows" :p)

In any case, that can only be good, I agree.

RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by EvilSeph on 06-16-2004 at 12:54 AM

I have a 1tb email account on youvegotpost, but who the hell needs that much space?

And yes, it's still 1tb, don't bother bitching at me.

RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by dotNorma on 06-16-2004 at 12:59 AM

I don't see the need for 100MB of email. Yah , Its nice and all...But you would have to store every email you ever received and times it times.....10 to get 100MB.

Google offers (Will offer) 1GB of email but they also realise that nobody is ever going to fill up 1GB of email.

RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by belluso_316 on 06-16-2004 at 01:07 AM

well i will be honest yahoo mail was and still my numbr one e-mail account i open it in 99 and still have it.  the mayor part of my e-mails go there and see it go from 4mb to later 6 mb and now 100 mb i just great for me.
i know that more is better in this kind of things, and now in yahoo i log in and have close to 100 e-mail (junk) and it says you are using 0% of 100 mbs :o) jajaja

other thing you will see hotmail sooner or later giving more space not maybe like google or yahoo or any of those new accounts but they will be force to move on if they wana compete

RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by BiZaRrE on 06-16-2004 at 02:34 AM

RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by lizard.boy on 06-16-2004 at 02:38 AM

i use my isp account and i dont need the space anyway :/ 10 megs on server and 45 gigs on disc :P i only get spam in my hotmail account anyway and i think my yahoo accounts have been shut down :P

RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by doggie on 06-16-2004 at 06:29 AM

uh erhmm.. the reason for the new size of your mailbox is so it can account for 75%+ of porn/spam to still come through but be able to still get emails that arent.. ahoy yahoo, just invent ye spam filters that work..

RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by Chestah on 06-16-2004 at 06:52 AM

Yes. Free accounts are 100 MB, paid ones are 2 GB.

it's just great knowing you can recieve bigger attachments... so people can now send MP3 players.  It's free, why be the only one left sending e-mails to hotmail, (2mb  ) when you can send 10MB! attachments, (5 hotmail accounts, shamefull...) and have a storage space of 100MB?

you can go on vacation and not worry about your inbox being filled with junk mail, because when you get back, you'll only have about 4mb of crap :P
RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by fluffy_lobster on 06-16-2004 at 05:05 PM

I'd also like to remind everyone of the many free services that have been around for ages now, such as the one I use that gives me 80gb storage.  They call it... POP3

RE: yahoo = 100MB NOW! by kao on 06-16-2004 at 09:52 PM

Indeed lobster, pop3 is by far better than ANY webmail, i hate webmail, i only use my hotmail account for registering on sites and for .net things, i use my pop3 kaonet.net email for real emails :p
