you can use JNRZLoader to sign in appearing offline. search on http://www.mess.be for it. you will need to know what version of messenger you have tho, to get the right JNRZLoader program

To appear offline, look at this post to have a complete list (including the correct reference links):

cheers for the link CookieRevised, i didn't know there was a plugin. i think i will be installing that. it seems like it would be useful

[edit]
that plugin is really really useful, my internet quite often restarts. with this plugin, it means that i can leave msn on, knoing that i will appear offline, even if i sign bac in automatically

i have the same problem Toddy... when my mother or father picks up the phone in the livingroom, my internet goes off, and restarts. ( my computer is in my own room )

but the plugin doesnt work here? i put the DLL file in the plugin folder of Messenger Plus! 3. i put the status on "Appear offline" en quit MSN. i restarted MSN and signed in... but it didnt word.. i was "Online" in stead of  "Appear Offline"

/Edit :
i tried again... my status first was "Be Right Back" ...  i changed it into "appear offline" and restarted MSN.
i signed back in and came online in status "Be right back"
why not in "Appear offline" ?   ^o)

The StatusSaver plugin is a very basic plugin and works very basicly. There is realy nothing that could go wrong and it should work nicely if you do things right...

hmm it still doesnt work here.. i've read the manual several times... i'm sure i did not forget something to do...

i'll just use the JNRZLoader... it's the best thing for me (Y)

RE: "Appear Offline LOGIN" plug-in? by toddy on 07-02-2004 at 02:35 PM

i think it only works if u sign out, not restart messenger. well that seems to be the case for me

RE: "Appear Offline LOGIN" plug-in? by CookieRevised on 07-02-2004 at 02:44 PM

The status is saved the moment you change your status. So no matter if you sign-out first or close messenger, it is saved....

eum.. seems that i have another problem
i formatted my pc and reinstalled everything including MSN :)
now i have installed my virus scan (norton systemworks 2003)
and it notified me that JNRZloader has a virus in it. and i could not repair it. so i had to delete the file.
is it true that the loader is some kind of a w32 virus? thats what i'm told by norton... :S

If you downloaded JnrzLoader from the official website at http://www.jnrzsystems.tk then it does not contain a virus. I use it myself too :)
RE: "Appear Offline LOGIN" plug-in? by Vendetta on 07-20-2004 at 12:17 AM

hmm ok thnx...
i did a full PC scan with norton and i placed the loader on my desktop. norton scaned my whole pc (so the loader was scanned too) and this time it found no virus on my pc.. weird.. :)
