messenger plus doesn't have any virus's and anything that will harm you computer. it does how ever come with an adware sponsor program, which you have the option not to install, that will add a toolbar to your internet explorer and change your homepage.
if you have installed the sponsor program and don't want it on your computer do not try use programs like spybot search and destroy or ad-adware, because these programs do not kno how to uninstall the program. use the insturtions given on this site http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=21598

Excuse Me? I don't catch your drift...
Messenger Plus! contains no viruses...just a small bit of Optional, not obligatory, non-compulsory and totally voluntary adware that is not intrusive as it is just a simple search bar for IE...

what i mean is that it's better to check if viruses are contained or not, just in case there's a miniscule chance it does, depending on the site you get it from, since it's not just msgplus.com that does it.... ok?

Why is this:

When installing 3.01    Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal

Attention An infected object detected.

MsgPLusSetupfile-B.tmp is blocked.

Object is infected with a virus TrojanDownloaded.Win32.Swizzor

It is recommended to delete this object.

The same virus was detected in the 3.00 installer I got from this site too.

It is known that Kaspersky says it contains a virus and Kaspersky has been contacted about this, but you can be assured that it does not contain any virusses :).
