It would be cool to change automatically our image shown to the contact, for each contact.
Example:
MSN Plus! could show the user image A.jpg to Mom and the user image B.jpg to the girlfirend...

For each contact, it will be necessary to set the appropriate image to show....

It is possible, even if you are chatting to different people at the same time, (DP's are send each time a contact's client requests it (eg: starting a convo, or if the DP changes when a convo is open)).

But it will require a lot of "programming and tweaking" (current normal DP sending must be filtered out, and each time a client requests a DP, the plugin/addon should block the request to be send to MSN Messenger and send his own DP instead => proxy)

And as this can only be done by "tampering" with the protocol, it will NEVER be included in Messenger Plus! itself.

This Idea is debateable, and mind boggling.

I think there are three possibilities were looking at here.

1. Because Msn Sends out the picture you've selected to every Contact that is online, you'd think it would be impossible to send certain pictures to certain people.

2. The way Msn works is it Sends out the picture you've selected to any Messenger Client Requesting it(Any of your online contacts).

For this to work you would need to be able to find out: When A Request For The Picture Comes In, Who's Requesting It. Then Send the Appropriate picture to the Contact.

3. Sort of like #2 but, When you change your picture, it sends it to the Server(Where Messenger Connects to) and from there the server saves it. Then your friend's Messenger requests for the picture from the server.

If this is the case it would mean that you could not change the picture for certain people. But this theory is the least likly of the three because It would take up so much room on Messenger's Servers to Store Everybody's Pictures. But then again Hotmail already gives us 2 Mb of space so it's possible that they also store our Display Pics too.


I made a mistake here and am correcting it, you see theory #3 says it saves the Display Pic to the Server, if this were true then when you went to a different computer and logged on it would show you your Display Pic but, those of you who have done this see that when you log in to a different computer you have one of the default pics. Therefore Theory #3 is not possible
