I know that this might be in the wrong forum and even site. but i was hoping that some one could tell me how to change the default browser for openning HotmAil to something like firefox because ive stoped using IE because of Hijaker's and just opening IE to look at my e-mails i got bomed with 135 browser hijakers any one now if this is posible

well if u r using windows xp

open control panel --> add/remove programs then click on set program acess and defaults --> select custom and change your web browser and click ok

btw,i'm using 2k, i tried that but for some reason windows update and the link of hotmail in MSN messenger opens in IE when the default is firefox?

you can use Stuffplug NG to open the Inbox and Emails in the default browser

As Dempsey says, you'll need the StuffPlug NG plugin if you want to open Hotmail from Messenger in your default browser.

I have set Firefox as my default browser and I'm running XP but it still doesn't work when I click the e-mail.  It goes to IE.  And where do we get Stuffplug NG.  I've got Stuffplug by DJ Mystic but it also launches IE.  Are Stuffplug NG and Stuffplug by DJ Mystic the same?

It's because of MSN Messenger that calls IE instead of your default browser. Check out this thread.

i found stuffplug ng and now firefox launches for my hotmail.  thank you for your help.

I installed that Stuffplug NG plug-in and whent  to the settings chose "open hotmail inbox in default browser" then restarted msn but it still wont open in firefox it brings my for a redirection site in explorer? i have msn-6.2 and plus-3.0.

do you definatly have FireFox or whatever set as the default browser?

Is there anything that can let me open links on the Plus! tab to my firefox?  Firefox is already my default

And when i opened my hotmail it sent me to a redirecting page in firefox and it said hotsnail look at the attachment and you'll see

is this normal?

UPDATE: i just found out i can drag it to my desktop then the links in the plus tabs become firefox but then i get an error message saying it cant find the site but it opens anyways

i get the exact message but in IE it can't seem to wana open in firefox,

Try setting Firefox as your default browser and setting up your Windows settings correctly.

If your talking about the "set Program Access And Defaults" menu, i tried it all ready i even chose the hide IE option and it still opend it in IE?

If you really want it to open in your deafult browser you could use stuffplug ng. (unsupported)

Ok i finally found wut was going on i had infopen instaled before which i uninstaled before having stuff_ng instaled but infopen stayed in some of my fiels some were which doesn't allow stuff_ng to open in firefox, i reinstaled every msn files including the plugins but its still doesn't make a difference does any one know how to completely uninstale it? please help!
