I like the Google Toolbar, it's usefull. I was installing Real Player 10 and it had the option to install the Google Toolbar. I thought, hey i'll install it with Real Player. Now it's included with the Divx codec as well lol
I didn't think Google payed companies for distributing that toolbar as I thought it was popular

Nope, but the FF googlebar is just as good.
back to topic, I'm starting to dislike Google's movements lately... They are getting a bit spammy.

Ya, and there "Relevant Text Ads" both on search and GMAIL aren't very...well...relevant
I searched, for example, "Halo PC Mods" and got something about the United States proposed missile deffense system (which, fyi, is not called "Halo" "PC" or "Mods"
)

Relating to blade's earlier post...
It seems that nearly all relevant text ads on Google searches seem to have something to do with sex
It's all these bots that come into things like chat rooms for example and say "want some fun??, visit blah blah blah.com"

enter every keyword and search for those keywords and then find a relevent ad.....the Halo one for instance.... to go that in depth with it to say that halo is connected with missiles in a way...... sounds like great fun to do
although i really wouldn't mind working for google

maybe the companies that distribute the toolbar get a discount on their advertising contract with those annoying "relavant" text ads.... thatz my theory at least

they pay to show up in the google database, and per click google gets money i think... if you place google ads on your site you get a small part of that money

The relevant text ads are in a way free until someone clicks on it. So if you clicked an ad for "the best PC game in the world", the makers of that game would have to pay for that click. (Keep clicking them lol and see their bill go up )

Yeah. Google are trying to compete with MSN and Yahoo so it seems...however they are a little late to compete, MSN and Yahoo are old names known by every internet user for Instant Messaging and E-Mail to suit.
Google are the most well known for their search engine. However I do not think people will use their IM client, if all your friends are on MSN and can't be pestered to switch you're not likely to switch...

I like Google, always have and probably always will, but I think they may be biting off more than they can chew with all these new services, only time will tell...

Well you never know if they will make it into the IM World. But i think personally if GMail takes off Googles IM Client stands a chance..... but it all takes tiome who knows..... But for now MSN Messenger is the one for me

You'll probably need a GMail account to use it and see new email in it like for MSN with a Hotmail account although you can use other accounts as your login.
