The configure option for StuffPlug NG is enabled for me.
Have you tried reinstalling StuffPlug NG? Have you tried rebooting (or at least reopening Messenger) after installing?

there are already bug threads for StuffPlug-NG, so post in one of them. and yes a few people have said this
