48 hours is the expected maximum time. Remember this is a free service so you get what you pay for.

i accidentally closed the window before i could get what to type in for the mail servers.

Sorry I'm a bit behind, you wouldn't believe how many people have signed up since I posted that thread.  Anyways, I'm working my way through them, but I have a couple of projects for some clients I'm finishing up and am thusly "burning the midnight oil" as one might say.  But, if you signed up and didn't get an email saying something was invalid, then it should be active shortly.

woot! about two weeks without an activation email, after a pm to sonicboom reporting it and yeah. Good work anyways guys.

In reference to a number of concerns regarding the "help" activating accounts, I have gone back to activating them myself.

Just to address one of the concerns, plaintext passwords are not available on existing accounts, only new signup requests.  If you would like however, you may change your password by submitting a request to rbewley@eq-sys.com, and your password will be changed per request.

I apologize for any confusion and hope that everyone finds this solution suitable.

what is the SMTP port on mail.eq-sys.com because i got connection time out when i connect to port 25

It is port 25, the standard port for SMTP.  I am able to connect to it from several places.

Okay i added it in outlook and i went to send myself a message and it camme up with this error:

Please try unchecking SMTP authentication in Outlook Express.

i type administrator at msgplus dot net and my password but apparently it's not validated yet. i hope you will activate it

You won't get a administrator@msgplus.net account. Well least I don't thik you will. Since you arn't  a admin. then you wont get that account name.

You should receive an email one way or the other whether or not your request was approved.  If you're account for some reason was not activated, or you received a notification telling you there was a problem with it, please re-submit your request.

ellmondo_64: If you are getting a rejected message, make sure the password length is correct, and check the other things listed in my email as to possible failures.  Also, can you please post the username you signed up for so I can take a look?

It's not working on any site. Hopefully WJ can contact SonicBoom very soon and fix this problem, as for it has all my shit on it .

www.msgplusemail.tk and http://webmail.eq-sys.com/horde/index.php are the same sites, so i dont think it would matter which site you went to to sign in.

www.msgplusemail.tk is easier to remember lol

well i was meaning about how people say "i tried to sign in on msgplusemails.tk and it didnt work" it wouldnt matter, its just the same site renamed by that tk thing.

.tk domain names are just frames which load a site. It's really loading http://webmail.eq-sys.com/horde/index.php

I don't like .tk names because you can't go like http://mysite.com/links... if you tried http://mysite.tk/links you would get a 404 error, but you don't need to do that so it'll be ok

Is anyone still getting that error in webmail?  I couldn't reproduce it, so it's difficult to troubleshoot.

And no, you do not get 500MB or 1GB, I don't have a terabyte worth of disks to give away like Google.  We also don't make millions of dollars a day like Google .

If you don't have filters or you don't know how to use them, then don't put your msgplus email in your signature to begin with....

Looks like there are some troubles. If I try to connect to the server via Outlook, It gives some kind of error 0x80042108. If I try it on http://webmail.eq-sys.com/horde/ and I enter all my information, it gives this error: "Login failed for some reason. Most likely your username or password was entered incorrectly." I'm sure I entered everything correctly. I tried several times, but it always gives the same error.

EDIT: looks like it's solved

I don't think the service is still in a workable state, as said, surfichris (aka Chris Boulton is working on it, atm.)

Just connect to the SNMP server, so it must be up. Webmail must just be screwed .

I'm guessing so, I don't think even the POP3 emails work, don't they?
