Real10 and 576 by PenguinBoy on 08-13-2004 at 09:06 PM

helo poops,
my friends pc won't run real player well, because he's on 576kbps but real player doesn't have that as an option for that on the internet config?

any ideas.

Tell him to set it to 512kbps, there won't be much difference...as long as he doesn't set it to a setting higher than 576 and not to far below it. Everything should be fine

It's currently set to 512, but not working. It won't run stream and it won't load any pages in the inbuilt browser

RealPlayer always used to be loaded with adware and such, never liked it.

You could try Real Alternative, this supports almost all formats RealPlayer does and also allows you to stream real-files from the internet.

  • Uninstall Realplayer.
  • Reboot your PC.
  • Go to http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/finalbuilds.htm and download Real Alternative (scroll down a bit on that page).
  • Close every browser window you have open.
  • Install Real Alternative. You can also choose to install Media Player Classic at the same time while you are installing, if you do this you will also be able to play offline real-files aswell.
  • Configure your bandwidth settings if needed, Real Alternative doesn't have 576 either but just choose 512, that will be fine.
  • Reboot if needed, after that you can stream all RealPlayer content without problems.
