StaffPlug-NG Open Convo Feature by MC Inferno on 08-15-2004 at 02:39 PM

All well and good having a feature that tells you when some1 has opened a convo, i really do like it, but if they open a convo and then close it without saying anything its impossible to tell, so could we have a thing that tells us if they close the conversation? :)

I Dont think this has been suggested, i checked first, but soz if it has.

There is a feature that tells you when someone closes the window. But instead of it poping up in a toast it shows you in the convo window.

"(screen name) has left the conversation."

See attachment.

Noooooooo. What they do is they open the conversation, say NOTHING and close it. but because MSN didn't tell you they had itopen in the first place, it wont tell you that they closed it. It's jus them, and a blank screen. The exact same if you opened a convo with someone and said nothing. The diffrence is that you're waiting for them to say something, and they dont. I dont quite know WHY ppl do it, but I've found they do.

If they opened the conversation and said nothing, then you can conclude that they have left the conversation. Otherwise they would have talked to you.

And if it pop up at tells you (name) opened a convo.. if you clicked on that pop up, and they left the convo it'll tell you that (name) has left the conversation.

It doesnt. I did a test with two msn's and double checked by getting my mate to do it too. If they open a conversation and leave without saying anyrthing, it doesnt tell me and I'm still waiting. I can work out by having an empty conversation window for 10 minutes, but I was hoping their would be some sort of help.

RE: StaffPlug-NG Open Convo Feature by BluexDreams on 08-15-2004 at 04:14 PM

Maybe you haven't ticked the box that informs you if someone closed the conversation?

RE: StaffPlug-NG Open Convo Feature by MC Inferno on 08-15-2004 at 04:21 PM

Ah, maybe then. I didnt know it exsisted.

RE: StaffPlug-NG Open Convo Feature by BluexDreams on 08-15-2004 at 04:26 PM

Oh, then that could be the reason. To get the window to choose what features you want from StaffPlug-NG , open any conversation > click on Plus! > Plugins > StaffPlug-NG > Configure.

RE: StaffPlug-NG Open Convo Feature by MC Inferno on 08-15-2004 at 04:54 PM

Oh, I know that, but it's not there, i dont think. I checked, theres nothing like that.

Stuffplug-NG does not pop up a toast displaying if the contact closes the window or not. But I will pass this on to TB and see what he thinks.

Also mention that I have found the 'Open Convo Window' warning feature is a bit paranoid.

RE: StaffPlug-NG Open Convo Feature by GiantSpider on 08-15-2004 at 09:20 PM

Warning Feature?

RE: StaffPlug-NG Open Convo Feature by MC Inferno on 08-16-2004 at 06:14 PM

it shouldnt put u on para.. i jus hate it when ppl open convo's nd then leave em again. i'd like to know WHY they do accutly.

I do that all the time. Mostly because people have long names and i can't read the whole name. I have my contactlist showing pretty small and do not like resizing it everytime. And sometimes i just like to know who somebody it (or his/her emailadress), then i doubleclick them too.
RE: StaffPlug-NG Open Convo Feature by RaceProUK on 08-16-2004 at 09:49 PM

Why not hover over the name instead? The full name appearsin a tooltip.

RE: StaffPlug-NG Open Convo Feature by Millenium_edition on 08-16-2004 at 10:19 PM

takes too much time =/

Might be, but doubleclick is easier: doubleclick > continue with what i did while PC loads window (not that it takes long :D) > continue with what i do while i read the name and email adress > close window > and resume work.

Also when a toast windows pops up and i want to know who that is i just click on the toast window instead of looking the name up in the contactlist.

750th post... posting freak! Oh well. already was elite :p)
