Forgetful fish :P, My little flash file I made.

It features the highly forgetful fish (which has no name , I forgot to put one lol) which has an accident. Please tell me what you think.

Download the file below.

You will download a self extractor which will extract Fish.exe (A Macromedia Projector file - so you don't have to view it through a webpage).
(MD5 Hash: 0d0beae17c4e3930a029a6f0d39af4ec)

Enjoy... :P

EDIT: Extractor has been updated with a default path.

What's wrong with a old fashioned .SWF?
RE: Forgetful fish by jren207 on 08-18-2004 at 06:27 PM

I don't have proper webhosting. So I can't put it in a webpage. That means you can view it on it's own. Most people have the browser plug-in of flash. When you install flash mx it handles .swf files so they can be viewed on their own. Not all that many people will have flash mx either.

i still don't get it

has it got some philosophical meaning hidden in there or something about us thinking?

and fish have a longer memory than 3seconds

RE: Forgetful fish by jren207 on 08-18-2004 at 06:32 PM

I heard that goldfish only have a memory span of a few seconds. I made this animation a while ago and it was going to be a campaign to advertise my site. It would go on to say something like: "Remember http://.... (this would be my site)."

RE: Forgetful fish by user27089 on 08-18-2004 at 07:01 PM

So then surely you can just edit this flash, and put your url on it, won't that mean that the advertising campaign has begun, and as all you want is hits on your site and feedback, then why not just do this. As far as I can see, its a good flash, except its a little bit traditional and not graphical enough

RE: Forgetful fish by jren207 on 08-18-2004 at 07:49 PM

It's a simple one I made, i'm gonna do a bit more learning about flash and make another more graphical animation. I wanted to see what people thought of the fish to see if i'm on the right track to making good animations :D.

It's not that funny but I like it. Just a note when you first download it don't just hit unzip button without setting a destination or the installer seems to lock up and you'll have to end the process, I suspect some older computers may crash...

RE: Forgetful fish by jren207 on 08-19-2004 at 02:59 PM

Yeh I know about that. I didn't want to set a default path because someone might lose the file and wonder where it got unzipped to.

Well I think people would rather that, than the process locking up...:p Just set it to unzip to the default desktop, no one will loose it there ;)

I could but, you see on XP, there are multiple user accounts, so for example:

My desktop location is,
C:\Documents and Settings\Jason\Desktop

Note that the name in the middle is different (not everyone is called Jason lol).

You can have user accounts on all versions of Windows, just XP and 2000 lets you set them up at install unlike other versions of Windows, perhaps you don't know of C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop?

I have updated the extracter so you won't get a crash if u accidently extract without choosing a path (I have added a path for you).

The flash file is still the same.
