Ive been beta testing for several days on this program, i have seen it transform from a really buggy program to a brilliant program. i recomend it to anyone and i love it. A must download

I don't want to diss your program, but I have to say something about it not being a plugin. If you're using the Messenger API Library, this is a bad choice. Reasons:

  • You will probably get errors on XP.
  • The tool probably isn't compatibly with polygamy.

RE: Advanced Display Picture by Yousef on 08-20-2004 at 09:03 PM

yes it isn't compatibly with polygamy
and you need windows messenger for it to run on xp

RE: Advanced Display Picture by Phrive on 08-20-2004 at 09:12 PM

although it dosent work with polygamy and you need windows messenger they are the two minuses, but there are many many plus's thats why i say that it is well worth downloading :)

RE: Advanced Display Picture by M73A on 08-21-2004 at 11:29 AM

:S ive tryed this, it does run with ploygamy and msn 6.2.137 or w/e latest one is, the only fing is if u use oversized display pictures wit stuffplug ng u get asked wether to keep original size everytime it changes

RE: Advanced Display Picture by Yousef on 08-21-2004 at 12:07 PM

you shouldn't get that message when turning on the option in preferences :)

RE: Advanced Display Picture by duol90 on 08-22-2004 at 01:01 AM

at the top of the configuration window it says im not signed in to MSN Messenger... and when ever i try to open or save something in the ddp i get an error and it closes on me

RE: Advanced Display Picture by s-e-r-i-a-l on 08-22-2004 at 04:56 AM

nice plugin.....but after using stuffplug's oversized dp option i dont want to go back to a small dp.... and if i want it to stay big apparently i have to press ok to keep the original size of the dp every time it changes so i'll stick with my one big display picture instead of many small display pictures

:O Are you sure you've got windows messenger installed? If you did you could try the help--> recheck msn status when you're signed in

I can't do anything about that, maybe the blasp could make a feature 'always resize' and 'never resize' instead of getting notified or not when the picture is bigger than 96x96
I'll think of a custom sized ddp editor :p
RE: Advanced Display Picture by MatureNL on 08-22-2004 at 02:54 PM

Will there ever be a version where you can use it with MSN Messenger?

RE: Advanced Display Picture by duol90 on 08-22-2004 at 03:16 PM

I've rechecked it and it still says that you are not signed into msn messenger

RE: Advanced Display Picture by Yousef on 08-22-2004 at 04:06 PM

MatureNL, it works with MSN Messenger, but you need to have windows messenger installed. duol90, are you sure you installed wm? :S

RE: Advanced Display Picture by BEWARE^^ on 08-22-2004 at 04:40 PM

if a new version that does not need W.M. comes out...please tell me

p.s.i cant b bothered re-installin WM so dont bother tellin me to ;)

RE: Advanced Display Picture by Yousef on 08-23-2004 at 09:19 AM

lol, what's your problem installing WM? u don't have to use it...

RE: Advanced Display Picture by Chestah on 08-23-2004 at 10:11 AM

WM would have to be the most painful program included in windows xp. It logs u in, in the background and is invisible. It randomly pops up and logs you out of msn etc. etc.
You must understand why somepeople do not want this excruitating annoying program installed :P
Chestah :)

RE: Advanced Display Picture by TGG on 08-23-2004 at 10:33 AM

nice plugin noelie, still buggy for me but o well (Y)

RE: Advanced Display Picture by bungleMX on 08-23-2004 at 11:10 PM

hello, can anyone tells me, how many seconds takes to ADP to change avery Display picture? I mean frames per secconds

RE: Advanced Display Picture by TGG on 08-24-2004 at 06:39 AM

there is a box where you can chose how long the intervals are

RE: Advanced Display Picture by aNILEator on 08-24-2004 at 09:27 AM

ok this program doesn't like to save my slideshows.......

When i go to open config the next time i start ADP it only loads

C:\blah blah blah blah\folder\badger1.png (then heres the weird thing)
C:\blah blah blah blah\folder

thats all that appears in the slides bit :@ so this needs fixing!

also cookie's method of stopping windows messenger doesn't want to work on my computer with ADP running :(

RE: Advanced Display Picture by Yousef on 08-24-2004 at 11:25 AM

thanks for reporting it! stupid mistake...
anyway, I fixed it. Download the whole installer again or replace the exe with this one:

RE: Advanced Display Picture by aNILEator on 08-24-2004 at 11:34 AM

alif you want me to do anything for you then I'll try my best, and always happy to beta test. (The amount of bugs I've been submitting to Steam during the Counter Strike-Source beta is insane)

SUGGESTION: Memory
Add an option to automatically load up previous data

like in the preferences bit. also is there a way to start this program up in minimized mode?

RE: Advanced Display Picture by ayjay on 08-25-2004 at 07:29 PM

I downloaded it an it works really great apart from the fact that someone I was having a convo with sent me a screenshot and the adp looked like this and I was wondering how I can sort it?:

RE: Advanced Display Picture by Yousef on 08-26-2004 at 01:34 AM

try using a bigger font or make it bold :)

RE: Advanced Display Picture by matty on 08-26-2004 at 02:12 AM

Here is a bug report for you and what you can do to prevent it.

For the DDP editor if you click Set Font and dont choose a font then simply use an if statement to check if the data returned is null or not if it is then do nothing

RE: Advanced Display Picture by crank on 08-30-2004 at 10:31 AM

What???
It's wierd...
opend options in FF and the Advanced Nickname window poped up.

RE: Advanced Display Picture by Yousef on 08-30-2004 at 04:39 PM

what does that have 2 do with adp :S?

RE: Advanced Display Picture by Millenium_edition on 08-30-2004 at 04:42 PM

cr@nk, that's a bug in messengerdiscovery
