THE gmail invite thread by bach_m on 08-26-2004 at 04:26 AM

Ok. heres how this works. so we don't have a bunch of threads saying "i have 4 gmail invites" or w/e, and so people who want them can find them, this is THE thread for posting Gmail invites. What to do:

If you HAVE invites to give:
1. CLick the link for the invite. pick a first name and last name, and fill in your own email adress (ur gmail addy works fine), so the letter is sent to you. if you recall, the letter contains a link to the account activation.
2. Copy the WHOLE URL of the activation link, and paste it into your response. number them, just to  be nice.
3. when someone tells you that they used the link(that comes later) cross it off using the [s][/s] tags.

If you WANT a gmail account.
1. Come into this thread. CLick a link until u find one that works.
2. follow the activation link and make an account. as the name won't be a real one, or at least not urs, u might wanna change it.
3. send a PM (or, if you arn't a member of the forums, an email using the user profile) to the user telling them that you used link number w/e in their post, and thank them for the account :P

PLease only take one account, and only take one if you do not already have one. be nice.

Also: You don't need to give all ur invites away. i have 5, i'm giving away 3

ALSO: DO not post in this thread saying "i want an account" or "someone please send me a link." THIS IS FiRST COME - FIRST SERVED

everyone get the procedure? good.

heres 3 to start the ball rolling.

1. gone

2. gone

3. gone

have fun, people.

RE: THE gmail invite thread by Kryptonate on 08-26-2004 at 11:03 AM

err.. don't you think people who see a post with more than 1 activation code in it will take them all? They had that on Neowin :dodgy:.

RE: THE gmail invite thread by crank on 08-26-2004 at 12:11 PM

wouldn't it be better to let the people who want one pm the user wich then sends the link?
else everyone will take more then one...
i still need an invite btw.

Also important , Please do not take advantage and sign up for like 2 accounts. Other people will surelly also want gmail and its not fair.

RE: THE gmail invite thread by spokes on 08-27-2004 at 06:03 PM

I've got about 5 3 invites. If someone wants one please pm me.

I'll edit this post when I don't have any left over.

Send me your e-mailaddress and your first and last name.

They're all gone

RE: THE gmail invite thread by Itanium on 08-27-2004 at 10:03 PM

I dont know how efficient this posting mechanism is. Ppl probably exploit and waste it. Just PM me whoever wants an invite. I think its better that way.

Gmail randomly gives them out to people. you'll know, because it will say on the side bar

RE: THE gmail invite thread by Plik on 08-28-2004 at 09:40 AM

Thats not how you invite people to GMail.
On you main GMail screen, the one with your inbox. Underneath the filters on the left side of the screen. If you have invites there will be a thing that looks abit like this
Invite X friends
to Gmail

And X being the amount on invites you have.
However this wont be there is you dont have any invites.

Also please dont double post, just edit your first post [Image: edit.gif]
