2 firewalls? by Weyzza on 08-31-2004 at 06:37 AM

I am planning to have 2 firewalls.
I know it sounds stupid and redundant.

I just want to know what you think.

bad choice especially if one of those is the Windows Firewall.
My suggestion,  if you have a network without a router then get Kerio.
If you dont have a network, then Zonealarm.

it's pointless doing that, as they both do the same... proxying every connection and filtering connections/packets. It will just slow down your connection and your system.

why run 2 Firewalls?.. just get a Router . any decent hacker can bypass  software firewall(s)  ..one could prolly say how bout i Use 2 Dicks., but why would i need the 2nd one?

True Software firewalls are about as much use as an electric kettle on a Gas fire.  There alright for just a single machine as hackers really dont have any reason to penetrate your system.  If your looking for security buy a router firewall or have a dedicated computer protecting your machines (I use something called Astro Sec Security Linux)  it doesnt need to be anything more than a 486 either tbh

yeah, u can have as many firewalls as u want, but if they all suck, theres no point, instead just get one good firewall
