Speed Mail Beta by .blade// on 09-03-2004 at 12:52 AM

Well I made a program to make it easier to check your email. Please, give it a quick try and tell me what u think. It's only a first (Beta) version and needs work. Right now it only lets u check Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo mail (at the same time). The next version will alow for MSN mail (couldn't find the link :P) and a later version will alow u to check any mail account u want ;)

The file is fairly small so plz try it out and post bugs and suggestions. Hope this  makes ur life easier :)

Blade

You can download the program below:

Update: Version 0.1.0 has been released with multiple small improvements. An updater is included in the main program for convenience ;)

seems :dodgy: it could possiblely be used to steal pw's

RE: Speed Mail Beta by EvilSeph on 09-03-2004 at 02:16 AM

It may just be dodgy, however, Blade is a trusted member of this community. If you can't trust programs like these, how can you trust PGTGM ? or other programs like that? In face.. why are you on a computer :p?

If people lose their accounts, i'm not liable :P (just a small disclaimer)

:| I said 0.1.0, basically it's the next major version

the first number is the version, the seccond is the sub version, the third is the build :dodgy:

RE: Speed Mail Beta by Vilkku on 09-03-2004 at 07:43 PM

Lol I was joking, like moving the 0 every week (first week 0.0.1, second week 0.1.0, third week 1.0.0 and then 10.0.0).

The program is nice, but I have some problems when I'm trying to signin to Hotmail... Guess it's just me.

Its just a form that opens up a link to a page in a Web Control in a form. Why not just save a link to the email on your desktop , Even quicker ?

Right now it's basically the equivilant to that, but 2 things:
1) Desktop Clutter
2) This is a VERY earlier version, greater features to come.
RE: Speed Mail Beta by dotNorma on 09-04-2004 at 03:24 AM

Well , Its almost of no use right now because whats the difference of having a favorite set and opening FireFox and choosing a favorite?

Same amount of clicks :-/

Add the following :

1) Auto loggin , Very simple. Have it open the page and fill the boxes with information to be retreived from the registry and click submit.

2) Interface...Im really sick of seeing crappy interfaces. Clean it up , Clean it up , Clean it up.....Clean........it.....up

3) I dont like how it opens it up in a little window you made , Have it open up in Internet Explorer or FireFox using Shell Execute.

4) Nobody likes splash screens , Not even satan.

5) What is with the tottally randomly placed label with the time?

6) Whats with the confirm dialog , There is no mail data to be saved

7) How does your update currently work? (I mean how are you doing it)

Just make sure to encrypt the username and password.

I have to agree. Standard Windows Interfaces Suck!
I tossed one together cause I was bored.

Design/Layout and buttons Copyright Matty.
P.S. The GMail button is moused over and the about button is moused over as well.

Montana is trying to cut down on the load time. If you have it load in the Default browser then it will take longer to open it up.

While this is true the splash screen should stay but add a box that will allow the user to never see it again.
