I wouldn't do what MessEnGer suggested, as that would open a serious security hole. Instead, either:
a. Download TweakXP from Microsoft and set up the Autologon feature
b. In Control Panel | Users, turn off the Friendly Logon Screen and Fast User Switching

You can't actually add a password to Fast User Switching: that's just the way it is.

That's not needed...

It is just 1 simple setting where you need to enable/disable the "Welcome Logon Screen". Nothing more. Do as raceprouk said and download/run TweakXP though, that's the easiest way.

What it does is setting 1 or 2 things in the registry (cba to look up the key atm)...

You can have as many accounts as you like and also fast user switching enabled and yet without the "welcome logon screen".... The User that is automaticly choosen is the one you set as autologin. This can be any user (admin, guest, etc...)

I should have made it clear that that was in response to his wanting to password-protect the fast user Switching. As you can't do that, I suggested just turning it off.
