The new Plugin API is great - far, much better I especially the SetNewName function... /me wonders how to include it in Hopper

I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but would it not take the load off of the main server if Patchou (or a designated helper) were to check out the mirror locations from the last release of , and those that are still coming up as active be sent an email (assuming that the person has an email address listed on their board account) with a copy of the new release.  When the public release happens, a list of alternate locations can already be in place.

This could help spread the load out over a multitude of locations, and may ease the strain on the main server.

Speaking of server strain....


I can't seem to get to MSgPlus.net. i get a connection refused errror.

I am looking forward to trying the new contacts on the desktop feature. Then again my desktop is so cluttered at the minute they'll probably get lost

A sidenote: The contact-on-desktop function can also put the individual "contact tag" on top of all windows, not only on desktop

Grmblz... when SPNG had the change name feature noone bothered to use it, and now when Plus! gets it I already see devs thinking what to use it for...

Yes, but Plus's feature has no extra dependencies, whereas if we used SPNG's, then that would be a dependency.

Thanks. It is already 1 hr & 31min into Sunday here which is why I was wondering. More importantly I am waiting to finish my new unattended Windows XP SP2 Cd and the only thing holding it back is the new Messenger Plus.

PS: If Sunday starts in a couple of hrs in France then why the additional 12 hr wait?

what u can do with the new featureis to put a contact "in ur desktop", basically u can have a contact "always on top" so u can quickly check his status changes and stuff

I was wondering why this thread got so big so quickly.. now I see that it's the usual "at what exact second will the new version be released?" stuff .

I live in Montreal (which is in Quebec, Canada, Earth) at GMT-5. I didn't give any specific time because I wanted to be sure everything would be in order before I do the release. It is currently saturday evening for me so I'll try to fix what needs to be fixed and if I'm not too tired by then, I'll releaes it before I go to bed. Else, it will go to sunday evening (my evening, not evening in Korea ).

Hope it will be worth the wait for all of you.. it's not such a big update after all

So when is it out in England?  If he's GMT-5, then about 11PM?

GMT -5  + 5 = GMT
18:00    + 5 = 23:00 GMT

i notice that one of my early suggestions is in this new version, the one where if you type

/sya the list only displays comamnds beginning with sya. because before you put the / then a list came up then u put a letter and it would disappear

Been using MsgPlus! for a while now, and the new version looks really promising, specially like the desktop contact feature! Heck I even registered on the forums for 3.20!

Oh come on, stop with that. First It is NOT still 6:00 Patchou's time and second: NOONE said Patchou would release plus 3.20 at 6:00. He said in the evening (his evening) and someone suppused it would be at 6:00 and put a count down to that time, however that's only a supposition, an idea, an approximation. Not an exat time. Besides, note that Patchou may have found a bug and he can be fixing it, or adding a new improvment and he may decide NOT to release Plus today but maybe tomorrow...

Plus! will be released later today, don't worry

Please, stop saying you're waiting and that plus isn't still released. We all are waiting and we all know it hasn't still been released. Patchou said he'll release it in less than 7160 days, 2 hours, 37 minutes, 48 seconds ago


Edit: However that doesn't mean he'll release it in that time, either. He may be delayed some time (maybe one or 2 hours). He only said: "I'll relelase it later today", his today ends in that time you have an idea there.

Edit again: updated the countdown.(i put a wrong time)

Whatever... It is sunday 5.20 pm and there is no release still but I will be patient and wait until he releases it... It is worth to wait for the best release of msgplus at the moment.
