has anybody figured anything out?

Does it also happen in safe mode? If it does, then the best solution would be making a clean reinstall :undecided:. But if it doesn't, then we should find what's causing it, possibly an application incompatibility.

Then something is really wrong with your system files, meaning, you'll need to reinstall windows.
Sorry =/

Good luck with it, but I fear for you. And if you updated to SP2 recently, I hope for you that System Restore won't mix SP1 regsettings & files with SP2 ones, because if it does, you're fooked.

what do you mean?
RE: i have a problem..... by lopardo on 09-17-2004 at 07:20 PM

He means that System Restore could cause more problems than fixes :undecided: You should make a clean reinstall, make a backup of your important document and files, make an integrated Windows XP SP2 CD, format and reinstall.

Or tell us what's exactly the error message first, may be we can do something, but I doubt it :undecided:

i have a 80 gig hdd, and that is full of important files.
andi do not have the money to go and buy a bigger hdd, to trasfer the files to.

Are your system files (the Windows, Program Files, Documents and Settings folder) in a separate partition? If so, you'd just need to format that partition, and save files you want to keep to another partition.

Take a look at the edit I made to my other post (we posted almost at the same time so maybe you didn't see it):

if its not something in the system, maybe its just a program that locks sutff or something *-)

edit: nevermind, i found out http://www.computerhope.com/software/drwatson.htm um, since this logs errors...and i guess it provides them too, what does this error message say (asked before.)?
RE: i have a problem..... by irish_king on 09-17-2004 at 08:28 PM

i'll try to get the error to come up again, and i'll take a screen shot to show you guys.

now it won't the error doesn't pop up, so i can't say what it says.
