IS IT TRUE by Wabz on 01-08-2003 at 09:41 PM

Hey does anyone know if it's true theres hidden features in msn plus 2 which can be activated by registry keys??? If so what are they

Uhmmm.. unlikely but not impossible, what would be the point in hiding them?

RE: IS IT TRUE by WDZ on 01-08-2003 at 09:57 PM

Patchou said he'd have some options that were only available through the registry, to save space in the Preferences window. These should be in an FAQ on the new site sooner or later.

I don't think there's useful hidden features, but there might be an easter egg... :P

A lot of features can be customised with registry keys, but don't expect something really new there. It was made for advanced users who REALLY REALLY want to customise their MSN Plus.

the settings in the registry are just modifications of existing features, not new useful features.

And in the beta there are not easter eggs as far as he told me ;), we're just trying to convince patchou to add specially something as an easter egg :P :D  :refuck:

Yes I wanted to add some easter eggs was there was too many important things to fix. Now that the software is more reliable I can start to think of simple easter eggs that will be in the final version. There will be some, be sure of that, but you may not know about them ;)

Concerning "hidden features", as GFD and Fraisie said, it's more about adding another level of customization. There is maybe between 10 and 15 options that are not available through the Preferences panel (a simple example: the timestamp format used in the Event Viewer).

It will be documented sometimes, or check the forum, sometimes I post some information about specific values.
Patchou

easter eggs are just mini-additions, games, etc added to programmes for fun by the programmers. millions of programmes have them, for example one of the Lotus SmartSuite (96) programmes had a weird maze thing with pictures of something on the walls if you spelled something by clicking the letters in the logo on the About box... They're basically another way to fill up your hard drive ;)
