Can I Automatically Exit MSN Messenger When Close by Stovnet on 10-02-2004 at 11:27 PM

Hi

Is there a way to set up Messenger Plus or MSN Messenger so that when I close Messenger it does NOT remain in my taskbar (or whatever it is called down where the time display is on XP).  *-)

I want to have control so that when I close (using the close button "X") Messenger completely exits.  Currently the only way I know how to do this is when I physically click the "exit" option on the taskbar icon.

Regards

Messenger sits in the system tray by design. The only way to override the behaviour you describe would be to use hooking and intercept mouse clicks on that button. Then, you can cause Messenger to quit completely.

Not sure why you want this though...
