I am new to Messenger Plus but got it hoping it would be able to notify me of new e-mail to either of my two hotmail accounts.  I have configured it to check my POP3 account but is there anyone to have it notify me of new e-mail to both of my hotmail accounts, and even yahoo mail if possible.

Hotmail addresses are not POP based. You can use Hotmail Popper to check Hotmail as if it were a POP account, though.

Download Hotmail Popper.

  1. Open the zip file and extract the one file that's in it.
  2. Open the file you just extracted, installation will begin.
  3. Click Next
  4. Choose program folder, click Next
  5. Choose when to start Hotmail Popper (both enabled recommended)
  6. Click Next
  7. A flame icon will be added to the taskbar (next to the clock)
  8. Right click that icon
  9. Choose Help
  10. Scroll to How do I use it, and follow the instructions
  1. Now, to set up the checking in Messenger Plus!:
  2. Go to the Preferences, POP mail section
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Enter your username (part before @hotmail.com) and password
  5. Enter 127.0.0.1 as POP3 server
Basically, that's how you can set it up.

The Free Yahoo! E-mail service does not provide POP access.
You could try to use YahooPops, which you can download from http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net. That site also contains detailed instructions on how to set it up (not with Plus! specifically, but the details are pretty much the same).

I don't use Yahoo! myself, so I can't tell you more.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I can't get popper configured correctly.  Under proxy server configuration what do i put for address and port?

I believe the options panel should (sort of) look like this:

So it seems the proxy settings don't need to be filled in completely.

That's not true... 
Use pop.mail.yahoo.fr to get your mail from Yahoo!

EDIT:
Ok, sorry, isn't possible on yahoo.com...
So, just use yahoo.fr ;)
