Microsoft Beta Testers by DJeX on 10-08-2004 at 11:36 PM

Is it worth applying for a Microsoft Beta Tester?

I'm thinking about going for it but I need more info on if it's worth it and what they expect from you.

First of all, It will take ages to get it :P.
2nd, You beta test diffrent things. The best part is that you beta test it first until it goes to the public :P.

Isn't this the entire purpose? To test something before it is released?

There is this website form microsoft: https://beta.microsoft.com/sign-in/signin.asp
But inorder to get access you need a GuestID and I am not sure where to get it.

The best part should be that you can help in developing a product, not that you will have something before anyone else.

Thats your opinion. Not mine :^).
RE: Microsoft Beta Testers by CookieRevised on 10-09-2004 at 01:37 AM

However, that is not an opinion what I stated, but the job you need to do. The purpose of being a beta tester IS to help in developing the product. It is a job and it has major responsibilities, it is not a "cool" priviledge.

If you want to become a beta tester for the reason that you will have something before anyone else, then think again.

yep and then when u login on the left-hand side it says surveys
ther is one survey so fill it in and submit it and you have a chance of becoming a beta tester ;)
* Eljay filled it in and hopes he gets accepted :cheesy:
RE: Microsoft Beta Testers by Anubis on 10-09-2004 at 11:06 AM

For once I'm in total agreement with Cookie...
The fact that your using some features before everyone else is an added bonus, personally I'd only BETA test to help out the development of the software...Not to show off to all my mates.

RE: Microsoft Beta Testers by Eljay on 10-09-2004 at 11:11 AM

well im doing it for both reasons :P

RE: Microsoft Beta Testers by Pyroteq on 10-09-2004 at 11:29 AM

I filled it in for both reasons

RE: Microsoft Beta Testers by DJeX on 10-09-2004 at 06:58 PM

Same here, I want the free program and to help the program develop into a working pice of software thats not going to mess up. I hate when i'm useing a Microsoft program and it crashes for no reason at all.

RE: Microsoft Beta Testers by matty on 10-09-2004 at 07:07 PM

Good think Plus! hasn't done that during my beta testing time with it :P

But I agree, it would be nice to get the opportunity to beta test Microsoft Products and I am still trying to find a way to get a Guest ID to actually Beta test anything. If anybody has an idea to get one then please let me know :)

RE: Microsoft Beta Testers by aNILEator on 10-09-2004 at 07:07 PM

if you hate that....then why you doing the job :P its bound to happen!

then you gotta write an email/report card thing then send it to them and stuff :P

RE: Microsoft Beta Testers by DJeX on 10-09-2004 at 07:38 PM

*Fukafly does not get the point I was aiming at*

I ment I hate getting finished programs that don't work right. I don't mind finding the problems in the beta programs so the finished one work good with no bugs.

Use "BetaReq" for the Guest ID then take the survey off to the left on page.

Q: How do I get a Guest ID?
A: A Guest ID is issued by Microsoft to grant special access to Microsoft Beta.  Guest ID’s are not available by request.

Sucks :(
RE: Microsoft Beta Testers by Chop on 10-09-2004 at 08:15 PM
