[MSN Messenger 7 Protocol] Version String by jon on 10-14-2004 at 06:53 PM

On MSN Messenger 7, sometimes (usually the initial connection) sends:

quote:
VER 23 MSNP11 MSNP10 CVR0
CVR 24 0x0409 winnt 5.1 i386 sqlvqmsxppj 7.0.0205 msmsgs myemail@hotmail.com
USR 25 TWN I myemail@hotmail.com

(CVR patched MSN7...)

But then after the initial connection, or even as the initial connection, there's like a 50/50 chance it may send....

quote:
CVR 33 0x0409 winnt 5.1 i386 sqlvqmsxppj 7.0.0205 msmsgs myemail@hotmail.com
USR 34 TWN I myemail@hotmail.com
and then a new packet....
quote:
VER 32 MSNP11 MSNP10 CVR0

The MSN servers evidently don't like this returning the following error:

quote:
715 33

So why does MSN Messenger 7 persist in this behaviour... is this a bug, although the problem does not occur when I am running my proxy, I cannot see how the proxy could induce this behaviour.

Any help with this would be much appreciated,

jon

Microsoft is trying to prevent people that are not beta testers from using MSN Messenger 7. That is what the recent downtime of MSN was for.
