Open up all router ports by .blade// on 10-17-2004 at 03:28 PM

Is there a way to open all the ports on your router up? I'm sick of having to open up like 5 ports for every game I play :dodgy:

coulden't you set it to open a range like say from 80 - 3000? Try that.

Set your pc to DMZ and it will allow all inbound and outbound traffic on your computer (As far as I can remember this would work, knowing Cookie, he will correct me if I am wrong)

Go to: Your router config > advanced setup > firewall > DMZ.

To access the Wireless Barricade’s management interface, enter the Wireless Barricade IP address in your Web browser http://192.168.2.1. Then click LOGIN. (By default, there is no password.) The home page displays the Setup Wizard and  advanced Setup options.

Advanced setup supports more advanced functions like hacker attack detection, IP and MAC address   iltering, intrusion detection, virtual server setup, virtual DMZ hosts, and other advanced functions.

If you have a client PC that cannot run an  internet application properly from behind the firewall, then you can  open the client up to unrestricted two-way Internet access. Enter the IP address of a DMZ host to this screen. Adding a client to the DMZ  may expose your local network to a variety of security risks, so only  use this option as a last resort.

EDIT: Took me a bit longer then Matty to type this. Oh well, may still be usefull.

So what would be the point of having the router if you're just going to forward all the ports?

It doesn't matter if your firewall is disabled or not. It's just that your DMZ settings are in the firewall submenu. Or didn't you mean that?

Well that's a waste of money then. It would be a lot cheaper and more beneficial to network the computers through cards.

                                       / Computer 1
Wall > Modem > Router - Computer 2
                                       \ Xbox

PS
