MSN Messenger 7 Public beta by x2zen on 10-18-2004 at 05:14 PM

Just wanted you to know that MSN is releasing a public beta of ver. 7

Read Here: www.imagine-msn.com/messenger/en-us/beta.aspx

Also on Mess.be

Hm, nice from MS, but I'm pretty sure they will release the RC and not the beta. Because security holes and other severe bugs may seriously damage the system of the testers.

Thank you for notifying us, signed up. but is www.imagine-msn.com a new Microsoft domain? Never saw them use it.

RE: MSN Messenger 7 Public beta by x2zen on 10-18-2004 at 06:13 PM

According to Mess.be it is a new MS domain. :)

RE: MSN Messenger 7 Public beta by matty on 10-18-2004 at 06:21 PM

According to the two links the Whois report on the domain says the registrars are different leading me to believe that Microsoft doesn't own http://imagine-msn.com

Thanks for this, definatly signed up :d.

RE: MSN Messenger 7 Public beta by Menthix on 10-18-2004 at 06:25 PM

microsoft.com has Tucows as registar, wierd. imagine-msn.com being registered by netos.com isn't any wierder then that. When you sign up it redirects to official Microsoft sites, so i think it's same to assume Microsoft owns the domain (or at least has to do with it).

Many? Not that many though... Also the word "wanna" is commonly used in non-business-streettalk-language. Also, remember the MS slogan: "Were do you wanna go today?"  ?

Also, if you look at the (previous) translations of MSN Messenger itself, you'll find lots of errors (and even very big ones). That doesn't make them fake though.

And above all why would the official pages link to something which is fake?

If you don't trust it, don't sign up. If you don't trust it and you've already signed up, then unsubscribe...

that u don't ask me:P

RE: MSN Messenger 7 Public beta by x2zen on 10-19-2004 at 06:46 PM

From mess.be:

UPDATE: It's being rumored the "beta" page mentioned above is fake because of spelling mistakes and misleading domain information. We can tell you that it's linked on messenger.msn.com and MSN itself is sending the link internally to their MSN Portals around the world. It is officially backed by Microsoft, but if you're afraid of getting spammed by their alert, you can always unsubscribe and just sign up for our Mess.be News Alerts to get all the Mess.be news flashes directly delivered to your MSN Messenger window.
