propaganda is a very effective war-tool...

Instead of shooting people you can drop leaflets with demoralising slogans on your enemies. It is done in the past and they still do it now (Iraq). This is a much much cheaper way to get your enemy demoralised or confused and thus less organised and thus weaker...

On the opposite site, you could drop leaflets with encouraging slogans on your own troops to boost moral etc...

Propaganda comes in many many forms. Mostly know are the planes dropping leaflets on cities. But, for example, the "commercial" video's shown between movies in the theater in Germany about how great Hitler etc. was is propaganda. On the other side, Britain did the same thing for their troops.
Also fake radio messages are a form of propaganda...

Think of it as advertising and think about how people will believe anything they read (Plus! = spyware). It is exactly the same...

value? it depends on what the person has gone thru. like let's say he got shell-shocked, the info that he gives might be different from what really happened. and also consider biasness
