Hi everyone,

As promised a week ago, here is Messenger Plus! 3.25. This version focuses on security and user satisfaction. I hope it will help you wait for the next "real" update with full MSN Messenger 7 compatibility . For the security part, every binary file of Messenger Plus! is now signed with a Verisign Digital Signature. The publisher's name is "Patchou"; with that protection, you'll always be sure that you are downloading and installing a genuine version of Messenger Plus!.
Now, about  the user satisfaction part, I have completely redesigned the setup and the way the sponsor's agreement is presented to the user. It is now ten times clearer, with a separated explanation message, a delay forcing the user to pay attention, a screenshot of the search bar installed by C2Media, a clearer "I refuse" option, ... there is no way you can miss the point of this screen now . Let's hope it will calm down some of the people who have been criticizing me over the past months, my first goal is to make a great Messenger plugin that everyone will enjoy, and if I have to take a pay cut for this to happen, so be it.

Stay tuned for more news about the next major release of Messenger Plus!. Until then, you can continue to enjoy MSN Messenger 6.2 and its plugins, MSN Messenger 7 Beta 1 is buggy anyway, waiting a couple of weeks for a more stable version is probably the wiser choice for anyone who do not have the time to beta test for Microsoft .

Hey Patch, good work I was suprised when I actually saw this, I wasn't sure if it was going to be released today or tomorrow since the home renovations and all.

But good work can't wait for the new beta whenever it will be

You'll still get the odd who's gonna start about how ruined their machine, but if they're too eager to hit "NEXT" at every chance, what can you do?

I think the people who keep complaining are "12 o'clock flashers", and if that is the case, then there's no way to help those kinds of people.

The signature of the installer is very important, because now the users with Win XP SP2 won't be prompted "This file isn't signed and may be insecure bla bla bla do you want to continue?" (well, i think, haven't tested yet )

Nice release btw. The setup is very very clear but with this one you just gotta be plain stupid if you dont wanna install the sponer and you install it anyways.

I think the auto-update doesn't recognise a new version until a week after release.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Will the new Plus version for MSN 7 be released in february or next month.

I asssume the next plus will be realsed when MSN 7 is out which is around Feb time I heard.

yes. in fact, M$ is espected to release a public beta of msg 7 in november (the 11th i think) and then Patchou may release a compatible version of plus.

Good work patchou   Personally I think the extra sponsor warning stuff is unnecessary - it puts undeserved negative emphasis on something that was already clear... however it's just another demonstration of just how much you care about satisfying users rather than your own needs.

hi all...

i've jus downloaded e msgplus fr my msn beta 7.0.0425 but how come it prompted to me that i have to check the compaitability? and when i click on e update button, it says no updates available...

You should install Plus! Beta which is only compatible with MSN Messenger 7.0
