"The group name is invalid!" too.... by josh on 10-22-2004 at 04:04 PM

Still have problem when blocking group in some condition even in 3.25.

When I use "Group Offline Contacts Together", some of group will be empty.

And some of those empty group will not be able to block using the Plus! menu, but still be able to use command "blockgrp".

Partly this is not a "real" bug...

The reason why some groups appear to be empty is because every contact in that group is offline and thus listed in the "offline group".

But when you group your offline contacts together, your contacts still belong to their respective original groups. The "group offline contacts together" option is only a cosmetic option, it doesn't relist your contacts in different groups.

And that is why the /blockgrp command still works. Also the blockcommands in "Plus! Extra's" for that "empty" group is still enabled, because, as I said, the contacts still belong to that group (proof: when they come online they will be listed in that group again)

But!!!

In some cases (for some groupnames) an error will occur when you try to use the "Plus! Extra's" menu blockcommand, although the /blockgrp command does work without an error... (nice find)

eg:
* create a group called "AB C"
(it seems something todo with the space, however "A B" works fine)
* Put some contacts in there which are offline
* Switch to "group offline contacts together" (the ABC group will be empty)
* Use the "Plus! Extra's" groupblock command on that ABC group
* You'll get the "The group name is invalid!"-error
