Does any one no how to bring the bulit in  animstrator account onto the welcome  screen and not safe mode?

unfortunately, the administrator account was designed to be hidden and so, this can only be accessed in safe mode. there was a flaw where the administrator account was visible a while ago under certain circumstances, but this has been patched and fixed.

you shouldnt really need to view the administrator account anyway, just assign your username to have Administrator priveleges. This gives you full access to everything and is really no different to the hidden administrator account.

You should be able to put it on the welcome screen by using TweakUI.

Open TweakUI and click the "Log on" option in the left pane. Put a checkmark for the option "Show Administrator on Welcome Screen".

I'm sure you're right frankiedaman, but there is a way to show the account with a program made by MS itself.

Tweak UI, a powertoy for windows xp (ONLY!).

URL: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powe...s/xppowertoys.mspx
Download: http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/c/a/fca6...iPowertoySetup.exe (147 KB)

Just go to Logon in the left colomn.

Frankiedaman is right that you don't need the account. So actually it's kinda useless to add it to the welcome screen

Tochjo... you're too fast for me

To be safe, you shouldn't even be using Windows on a daily basis under an account with Administrative permissions/abilities. You should instead log on as a normal user or a power user and use the "run as" function to install applications etc.

Irrelevant, but good to know.
