this also happens to me once in a while.. Like once every week... What i do is just unplug the ROUTER from the electricity socket.. and plug it in again and it works again.. -_- it doesnt seem to bother me.

you are probably using dsl, the isp registers the first mac address you use to connect via your phone line, they will disconnect you if you use a different mac address after that

the possible reason is that you initially setup your dsl connect with only one pc, the mac address of your nic card on that pc is used to register for the dsl line. After that, you plugin your modem into your router to connect to the internet. Since your router has a different mac address, your isp will disconnect you

the solution is to log on to your router using the comp that you initially setup the connection with, configurate your router so that the router would "clone the MAC Address" of that comp (there should be a button to do that)

Done but not resolved

are you sure you cloned the MAC address of the computer you used the first time you set up your connection?

Yes I cloned them both.  When I cloned my other PC and tried to log onto the internet with my other PC it couldn't log on.   What would lowering the MTU settings do?
